Completely true. That was the class after Crean's first year, his class after his second season featured three three star recruits and no top 100 players.

Maybe my years are messed up. Sometimes it comes down to timing and good local recruits.

For 2011, Indiana University signed five-star recruit Cody Zeller, their highest ranking recruit since the Sampson era. Indiana has also signed five-star recruits Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell and Hanner Perea, both members of the much hyped, 2012 class that is ranked as high as #2 in the country by the recruiting websites.

Crean has had a lot of bad luck with injuries as well which maybe have slowed down the rebuild some.

Basically it comes down to Iowa might need like 5-6 years to become a team we can say things are turned around. Indiana has LOT more advantages compared to Iowa.

There's also a hell of a lot more talent coming out in Indiana than Iowa this year. Crean also has high expectations than Fran does. Indiana fans want a lot more than just getting back to the NCAAs.

Agree 100%! I stated that above, Indiana has a LOT more advantages.

Just trying to bust your chops on the recruiting class comment! ha,ha I get my years messed up.....

Wonder why his class was so lowly ranked that one year.

How many times did we beat Indiana last year and the year before, we have beaten them every game in the past two years. Only a complete idiot would think we beat them twice every year. I am surprised that you would interpret things that way. The comment was tongue in cheek. Use your feeble mind sometime. The odds of us beating them twice this year are slim, same as all other teams in the conference. Looks like Indiana just knocked Number One Kentucky off.....

Take it easy. No reason to get bent out of shape over such a trivial comment....

Crean seems like he would be a fun coach to play for.

I can't believe how positive he was the past few years with some dreadful teams. That guys coached hard and was always encouraging his guys.

He is getting better talent lately and is starting to win.

Great to see Indiana rising back to where they belong.... been too long.

2 top 20 kids
9 more in the top 100
i wish Iowa had that type of talent
and this is not a once every 20 year type thing
to take Crean 4 years to have a good season with that type of talent available is amazing
and fans here expect Fran to have a great season in his 2nd year of coaching Iowa BB
is truly amazing with the handicap Fran is dealing with
this is the 1st year in a long time Iowa actually kept a top talent home
the better the Talent the state produces that stay home the better Iowa will be
just think how good this team would be if Barnes had stayed home
