In the Post-O'Keefe era, Iowa has been outscored 94-10

in the first half of bowl games. To put this into perspective, this is worse than how bad Iowa State got trucked by Nebraska in the '80's. This shouldn't be acceptable. I am going to start a change.org petition to get the play calling back to O'Keefe and was wondering if anyone would be interested in helping me circulate it.

You mean Ken Keefe, right?

Woah... Some stats can't be ignored. Geez

But remember, the current streak of bowl futility is definitively explained by "bowl games are just exhibitions".

Therefore, your point is moot!

Why is this a thing? Greg Davis isn't here anymore and KOK is back. So... you want to retroactively re-score those bowl games?

Are you saying the bubble screen is the secret to success at Iowa? That is kind of like asking for more "cow bell" isn't it?

There are variations on the WR screen that you don't understand. With speedsters like Easley and Vandeberg running routes this year, we should be putting up 300 yards of offense on jail breaks, bubbles and tunnel screens.

During the O'Keefe era, Iowa won 59% of their games. During the Greg Davis era, Iowa was 39-26 (60% winning percentage). As you know, the offensive coordinator doesn't matter at Iowa.

Iowa is losing bowl games now because of their terrific fan base, pushing them into higher tier bowls. If we played the stiffs Northwestern always plays (because of their abominable fan base), it would be a different record.

Think about it

OK4P - I've been waiting for you to weigh in. I wanted to bounce something off of you. Given the stakes this Saturday, do you think it's possible Kirk asked Brian to take one for the team and throw a little tirade? Kind of sets him up for a one game suspension, perhaps announced late in the week. Hear me out now.

We know a change needed to be made for the Buckeyes. 10 to 17 points a game ain't gonna cut it. But Kirk wanted Brian to save a little face, maybe even let the fans praise him for his passion. So he has him put on a half time show in the press box. See where I am going with this? Do we know anyone else on staff who has experience coordinating an offense? Do they have experience calling plays to beat Ohio State? Do they have experience calling plays that dropped 33 points on the Buckeyes and resulted in Iowa's largest margin of victory in the entire series? Can they do it even with 5th string walk-ons forced into action?

Brian has good instincts, but we need this one too bad. Time to toss the headset back over to the old wizard. Kirk is usually a few steps ahead of us on these things.

I like this theory. Has Brian been suspended yet? O'Keefe with the headset would be remarkable. Fant would have 200 yards and the game winner, just like this gem:

I thought I knew you. We both know Fant will be well covered, so Ken will likely sneak Hockenson into the flat. Either that or look for him to have one of the fullbacks leak out. Ken's already rung up the score on Tressel using Sam Brownlee. Seems like he'd enjoy using Brady Ross to knock Meyer out of the playoffs.

Chosen Children is right. Iowa has been pushed into bowls higher than their record indicates, and they would beat teams that are a notch lower.

In this day and age they would have taken 10 minutes to review the play ;)
