Impressive Stats so far

Iowa is the ONLY FBS team to not allow a rushing TD this season. (They also didn't give a rushing TD the first 5 games of 2009 either)

Iowa has allowed 4 touchdowns from scrimmage this season. That is the fewest by ANY FBS team. Missouri is second with 6.

Stats mean little to nothing untill after approx 3 games into conference because so many teams play 3 or 4 patsies. Now Iowa played 2 but same applies.

Iowa WILL BE THE LAST FBS team to not allow a rushing TD this season. (They also didn't give a rushing TD the first 5 games of 2009 either)

Edited / fixed the first line, to take effect sometime between 2:30 & 5:30 pm, central, this Saturday.

I agree to disagree. Although I agree with you about the patsies comment, I have to disagree that it means nothing at this point. What it shows is that dispite playing cupcakes, they have avoided the mental errors and haven't "taken plays off" to avoid giving up meaningless touchdowns and stupid mistakes. To me it's a stat that displays discipline and focus.

I think it's pretty telling of our defense if we are the last FBS team out there that hasn't allowed a rushing TD. I have no doubt that scUM will run one in on us but our D will be able to repel a majority of their offensive attacks.

Thats right. We aren't the only ones playing "patsies" but we are the only ones not allowing rushing tds from them.

We have also not given up any (0) points in the 3rd qtr.

I think its a good stat. OSU gave up 21 to Eastern MI. That shouldnt happen I think 14 of those came in the first half. Who cares if OSU scored 70. I think too many teams give away TDs in games to cupcakes.

Great stat ... and we are also #1 defense in the country for points allowed per game.
