I'm not even that upset about it.

It's just not that important to me any more. It was a great season until the final 2 games. I didn't break the bank to go and watch the meltdown in person.
5 years ago I would be hotter than a hornet over that performance. But I left the party and went home as soon as the 35th point was scored. Haven't looked at the recording either.
Anyone care to guess what season ticket sales will look like next year? Anyone think the last 2 games will slow it down?

The crowd was fun in the 2nd half which really helped spirits. Everyone around us was overly cheering and yelling funny sh!t like "at least we have water". By the time the game was over, everyone had accepted the loss and moved on for the most part, which was a far cry from Indy.

I'm kind of the same way. I unfortunately had to watch it with corn tard and Ronald McDonald in laws (divorce per the wife if I didn't go), well watching through kids in front of the tv and subtle passive aggressive gloating of the corn tards and clowns made it just wonderful. The neb tard dad even has his ten year old trained to scream Hawks suck. I didn't say anything. Just left at half. On way back to Des Moines, to top it off, car ran out of gas. If you were on 35 and zoomed by a guy walking three miles one way in the dark for gas, that was me. Happy new year

Almost the same evening. Swap the corn tard and the clown for some crying Illini, a bandwagon Hawk fan who likes to give his pro opinion yet his Asian wife probably knows more about the game, a dog for the mouthy kid, and a flat tire on place of the gas. Feel your pain. Yesterday couldn't end quick enough.

Lol, great,sad,tragic story.

I have almost recovered fully. I was 100x more upset after the MSU game. I think the now infamous 22 play drive blah, blah so crushed my spirit that I have got back up for the rose bowl. I watched the game In a very detached way, like I was watching two random teams.

I wasn't that upset either I just set my house on fire and drove around town robbing convenience stores in my Hawkeye gear.

Same thing here except for the minor stuff like Nebby fans or running out of gas. ;)

After my brother-clone-law said for the third time, "Well they haven't played anybody all year until MSU and this game...." I said, "So you agree that Iowa State should get off the schedule to give Iowa a game where they can play somebody and besides Iowa's SOS was better than Stanford's because the PAC12 sucked this year."

Later on a couple of nieces' snickers got loud and bold as I was filling up my dinner plate so my wife, an Illinois immigrant-turned Hawk fan said, "Which bowl is Iowa State in this year? And last year? Wait? How many games did they even win this year?" God bless her.

My family grew up cheering for and attending Hawks, Cyclones, and Bulldog games but Hawks were always top of the heap for us in excitement level. My brother graduated from ISU. He roots for both schools. I know one of the Rhoads family members (Paul was a cling on when he was a kid) -- so was pulling for him to do well.

But I have never had a good experience watching an Iowa game around ISU fans.

Iowa-ISU at Kinnick in the blowout = bitter ol' ISU fan sitting behind me and my son tried to get in a fight with some 20-somethings sitting in front of us.

Iowa-UNI basketball game in the Big4 Classic last season = haven't heard such classless-ness in my entire life.

On and on.

I'm to the point where I hope ISU loses; is the next step happiness when ISU loses?

I tend to agree. For me, it was playoffs or bust. I would rather have been crushed like michigan st. did than go out to the rose bowl. I may be in the minority on that one, i don't know

The msu game devastate me and as for the Rose well I was hoping for a good showing. Not upset that they lost just bummed because of the lackluster performance. I think we all new it was just a matter of time. Doesn't make it any better though. I've been blessed with all the relatives bleeding Black and Gold. I feel sorry for you guys that have clown relation. I really don't think I could handle that. Looking forward to next season Keep your chin up Hawk Fans.

Losing the last two hurt but to me even getting as far as we did is amazing. Running the table is not something even great teams do every year. I'll take that as a positive step in the right direction.

Yes, it was similar where I was sitting, except for one foul-mouthed drunk ***** that would not shut up.

LOL - I'm sorry to hear you had bad day, but, that is the funniest thing I read/heard all day.

MHA, I feel your pain man,...my 8 year old (Nebraska fan) nephew shot me a text when we were down 28 zip, "How about your Hawkeyes", I was literally stunned not b/c of Iowa's play but that that lil f*ck went out of his way to get my number and text me that......The hate for Iowa starts at a very young age my friends.....;)

The good news, My three mile walk down 35 in the dark gave me lots of reflection time to focus on inner peace. I'll still throat punch the next clown that mentions the game.
