450+ combined starts with the current players hasn't yielded very much. I think we have some talent on the bench. I hope we have toughness too.
I'm willing to give Fran a couple more years.

Unfortunately Fran can't coach a guy to hit a wide open three or dunk the ball when your one foot from the basket or have a ref call a foul on a player who rides your star all the way to the basket. Some things players just got to do on their own. Carver was rocking for the first time since the eighties in the second half last night then with three mins. left most of the crowds ambiam kicked in and they had to get ready for bed. Pathetic! Crowd sat on it's collective *** most of the night with first place team at home. WHY don't they watch it at home where it's nice and quiet.

Actually he has rarely yelled and screamed this year or got mad. Watch the sidelines, Crean, Izzo, Mata, all of them yell and scream and contort their faces. Fran doesn't do any more than all the other coaches in the B1G.

I'm interested in seeing the new players/team. His Sienna teams didn't collapse like this team of players has (2 of 3 seasons). I'm not gonna get worked up about Fran's teams any longer. I have the same amount of expectations going forward as I did during the Alfraud/Lick years.

Let's remember something about a new year....Next year, some new faces, some kids w/a little more experience, all great things, but they will have Fran as their coach.......will these kids do what it takes to keep Iowa in a game, or possibly close out a team by playing tougher "D", rebound, etc... or will Fran find a way to get caught like the deer in the head lights? Time will tell, I guess....we have the rest of this season, so hopefully Iowa will break out of this trance their in and get the f*ck going

Next year will be painful , no matter how talented the freshmen are. It takes time and experience to get BIG ready unless you have players like Maryland who started 5 NBA players. Must be patient with this group.

If our seniors didn't crap the bed with under 4 to go, we could have beaten Dayton, Notre Dame. ISU, Penn State, Wisconsin, Ohio State, and Indiana twice. If we win half of those, we have one of the best seasons in Iowa history. Instead, they constantly give away possession after possession and lose them all so Fran is the worst coach ever and should be fired.

Even the people who think Fran sucks because we lose after we reach the top 10 shouldn't worry about next year. We won't sniff the top 10 so there shouldn't be a collapse to worry about.

I've been looking forward to next season for quite awhile. I'll remember this group of SRs as one that helped get Iowa out of the hole dug by Alford and Lick. But also a group that wilted under pressure every single season on campus and has other posters have mentioned, except for JU, nobody in this group is much different than they were 4 years ago. None where able to develop their game.

I am too. This senior class has pretty much reached its limit, and watching them fail over and over again is just frustrating. It might be an example of the Ewing Rule in full effect...raw talent flourishes once the people in front of them are gone.

Good point, but let's not have a repeat of those years....I am waiting for a player and even a coach that's aggressive (ya know, the kind that's in the ballgame)....I see Fran, arms crossed, pacing up and down, and I'm thinking what the hell is he thinking, or what the hell is doing (or not doing)....At first when he started coaching at Iowa he was aggressive (or too fired up at times)....is that good or bad, I just don't have an answer....All I know is it appears he's not having fun, the players are responding in that fashion as well....a lot of pressure for all involved.....We can sit around and analyze it all we want, but all we really want are "W's", or at least more than what we have.....

This class has yielded 1 NIT Championship game followed by 3 straight NCAA appearances...and an NCAA win last year. And there's been an obvious upgrade in recruiting and young talent on the roster. This class has yielded a lot IMO.

Beating the worst Davidson team in the tourney in years is "yielding a lot"? Because that's really all this class has accomplished.

Nice try. But you ignored my post and made a random comment which has nothing to to with what I posted. If there is something inaccurate in my post please feel free to address it. If you are going to make an unrelated comment there is no reason to quote my comment. Because my comment is 100% accurate and based 100% on fact. Your post is nothing more than opinion. Last year's Davidson team was as good as any Davidson team I've ever seen...that didn't include NBA MVP Steph Curry.

This is spot on. Here is what the "seniors" have done in the final minutes of the last 4 games:

vs. Penn St 2 field goals in the final 10 minutes and both in the final 26 seconds
vs. Wisconsin 0 field goals in the final 6 minutes
vs. Ohio St 1 field goals in the final 4 minutes and that 1 was with 40 seconds left
vs. Indiana 1 field goal in the final 4 minutes and that 1 was in the final 10 seconds


That lack of production isn't on Fran. That is on the team. Fran can't make shots for them, they had open looks. There is no leader to put them on their back and refuse to lose.
