This team can't beat anyone right now. They will win...at most....1 more game this season and will play in the NIT.

I have been a big supporter of Fran, but he has royally messed this team up.

reminds me of the story of the little boy stuck in the middle of a custody battle between his parents. Finally the judge asked him. Son would you like to live with your mom? No, your honor, I would not. She beats me. Well, what about your father, I guess you'd rather live with him then? No, he beats me too. Well what do you suggest? I want to live with the Iowa hawkeyes, they don't beat anybody.

The sky is falling. Pomeroy's rankings after last night dropped Iowa all the way from 12th to...12th? What about Sagarin, surely he moved Iowa down from...no, actually they stayed in 12th. Surely Jerry Palm has things figured out and moved Iowa down to the bubble. Wait, he moved them down to a 6 seed? That doesn't make sense.

Well...if Iowa is sitting at 20 wins and gets left out come Selection Sunday, I guess you will have a big "I told you so" coming your way.

Iowa is 19-9. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict a loss @MSU. If Iowa happens to drop one of the two games against Purdue and Illinois, that would put us at 20-11, and adds another not-so-good loss to the resume in the process. If Iowa should proceed to lose its first BTT game, that would put them at 20-12.

With a record of 2-7 (2-8 if they lose @MSU) against Top 25 opponents and a falling RPI.. Maybe down to 40 in the NCAA RPI (not the ESPN one, in which we're currently 41) by Selection Sunday.. That sounds like bubble territory if you ask me. How many at-large teams are there? Something like 38? Might want to stay in the RPI top 35 or so to feel safe.

My official prediction is an NCAA bid with a 7-9 seed, but I'm seriously starting to wonder.

Wait til I pull this thread up and show everyone how I called it.

I'll bet you $500 or any amount you are comfortable losing.

Even with the recent struggles the odds are still really low that we miss the tournament. I haven't looked at this years bubble (I'm sure it sucks) but I would take our resume over a lot of bubble teams since they expanded the tournament and that's with us losing out.

Posts like this suck besides the obvious reasons, now if we miss this idiot will go around touting how awesome he is and if he gets called out when we likely get in he'll just be all like "sorry guys, I melted down a little bit." Jesus, it's tough sledding right now but at least be a ******* man about it.

Actually if the Hawks lose out, there's a fair chance they wont make it. Teams with a sub .500 records in conference play very very rarely make it to the NCAA tournament. It just doesn't happen. Not that anyone really thinks they'll lose to both Purdue and Illinois at home, but after last night its pretty clear that anything is possible. For some reason I still have a feeling Iowa wins @MSU.

The committee doesn't really care about conference record. It's pretty much how many top-50 wins you have and your RPI and to some extent how many bad losses you have (though it doesn't really seem like they give as much of a **** about this as they should, if they valued this we'd be a lock already because even Purdue and Illinois probably wouldn't qualify as terrible losses)

I can picture the OP rooting for the Hawks to lose just so he can be right on a message board.

Jesus, I'm a Cyclone fan and would say this team is almost a 100% lock to make the tournament. Step off the ledge. It's only your first losing streak. Numerous solid wins. Nice RPI. And worse case scenario you will likely win a few more games.

Ah...Hawk fans...

Iowa has a losing record on the road...if I remember right...wasn't that one of the things that kept us out last year? Something about "quality road wins" or something?

You are oh so very wrong. I'll be at the game Sunday....will you?

As far as coming back and touting my greatness should I prove to be correct...that won't happen. And I am man enough to admit when I'm wrong. And I hope I am.

Right now this team is showing me nothing that would make me think they can beat Purdue or Illinois (MSU ain't happening). Prove me wrong, Hawks.....please prove me wrong.

Oh, so it's just a meltdown post that showcases your cowardice. That makes it all better.
