Are they a legit B10 contender right now? With that defense and their RB they are going to be in every game. For a RS Fr, their QB looks pretty solid.

MSU is famous for taking a nosedive at somepoint during every season. Coming off a huge road win against their main rival is a recipe for a letdown. This is a winnable game for Illinois.

I'm not a fan of Zook, but I have to admit, this team looks tough. Athletic, physical defense and quite possibly the best RB in the conference.
 


No they are not. I hope they keep Zooker around though. Zooker is good for the Hawks. That Nate Kaeding sure can run the ball.
 


No. It's true that Illinois isn't as bad as many folks thought, however, you have to remember that Illinois beat a pretty depleted PSU squad.

The youth of Scheelhaase is on display whenever the Illini face good run Ds. Usually PSU has one of those ... however, they were without 4 of their starting 7 on the DL.
 


We'll find out this week.

Zook called Penn State a must-win. ( The "must-win" is a refuge of the bad coach IMO. ) Though I see Michigan State being a little lethargic, their prep for Denard and Rich Rod was a good prep for the Illinois O and I think they'll beat Illinois easily.
 






No they are not. you don't throw gatorade on your coach like you just won a BCS bowl game when in fact you only won a conference game at the beginning of the conference season if you were a REAL conference championship contendor. WTF was that about?
 




No.

They're better than they have been in the past couple years, but are still a work in progress. Short of a lot of luck, they're not heading to the Rose Bowl or anything.. I'm not sure they'll be able to beat MSU, Michigan AND jNW. Indiana could beat them, depending on Illinois' pass defense. Probably stand more than a fair chance against Purdue and Minnesota.

Indiana = Toss-up; Indy can hang fire with anyone, they just don't D up
Purdue = Win
@Michigan = Toss-up; see Indy analysis above
Minnesota = Win
@NW = Loss; NW has illannoy's number maybe moreso than they have ours

I say 4-4 in B10 play. Enough for Zooky the Clown to win an extension. :D
