Take White or or maybe MG off this Hawk team and what would be the results?
I will say this; the Illini ain't ready for dancing. They didn't power out a win. They played a pretty inept team. Borovnjakl scored 10 above his average. Should be easy to shut down for a good team in a close game.
Take the game for what it was worth. Illini won a home game against the only winless major conference team - positive.

You think anyone would be crying for Fran...think not...it is unacceptable, but why does Chambers get a pass for having poor players and a bad team?

Cuz he didnt recruit most of that team. This is only his 2nd year.

They are three years removed from an NCAA berth...so there was no talent when he got there?
It is sad to say that the amount of wins don't define a season. Bill Parcells said your record is what you are...he doesn't deserve a free pass...he has brought basically no talent in...not even an under the radar guy.
Frazier was all-league last year,and led the league in scoring. That is a big loss. PSU has played a bunch of close games. Frazier probably makes them an 8-10 team,instead of 0-18.
Chambers is a good coach,and only in his second year,so he gets a pass....next year? Not so much,but they could be dangerous with Newbill,Marshall and Frazier....all are more athletic than anyone at Iowa.

What does being athletic have to do with anything?
I am unimpressed with Chambers at this point, but he makes his players feel good by telling them "good job" when they foul out.
PSU plays hard, I give them credit for that...when Frazier comes back will PSU revert to a one man show like they were before?
Man you seem to hate Chambers. What did he do to you? ha,ha...
The jury is still out but PSU just seems like a terrible basketball school. I don't know if that program can sustain long term success.
Chambers has energy and his team plays really hard. I will say he must be a decent coach to keep them fighting.
He seems to use the positive energy. Nothing wrong with that, there are many ways to get your team to play hard for you.

Hate is a strong word...I find him to be the most annoying coach in the Big Ten.
PSU is kind of a wasteland for coaches...I hope he does well, but I just don't see him doing well.

I didn't realize that. I have noticed that our overall D is really improving. Our half court trap is creating a lot of trouble for the opponent......

Totally agree on him being annoying, but he goes about his business in a way I can appreciate. The guy donated a lot of dollar bills to get people to come cheer on his 0-whatever team and they almost ruined our season. His players have not let up one bit and they are going to win a game very soon. Losing Frazier was a horrible blow to that team, I compared it to like us losing gatens last year. I can respect a coach who has passion for what he does. Give him another year with Frazier, Newbill, Marshall back plus whoever else and if they fail miserably next year we can talk. Like you said, Penn State isn't exactly the best basketball school

Don't get me wrong here, I was unimpressed with Belien his first couple of seasons as well, the team was in kind of disarray and they had talent. I don't think Chambers is a bad coach, my initial comment was more to do with the view Jimmy Jackson took on how Chambers should look at his season and this is based solely on not having Frazier.
The fact that he said "the number of wins shouldn't determine how Chambers feels about this season" is giving him a free pass for sucking. Or it tells me that Jackson thinks PSU really has no talent other than Frazier and that is my point.
