They hit just under 50% of their 3's in the game (11-23) This is poor timing for the hawks, but a win over Illinois would mean something, but you just have to hope they are having an off night when the come to Carver.

They just beat Indiana and got Minny at Minny (which Iowa should have done as well). It is going to depend on how the perimeter D is. If they hit 50%, it is going to be a long night.

11/23 is really good. I think they were close to 40% against IU. But they were 50/197 in the 9 games before that.

Hawks have defended the 3 ball very well, so that makes me feel a little better.

The thing that worries me is you just dont know what Illinois team is going to show up. They could be the team that shoots 3/22 from 3 point range and racks up a total of 2 assists for the game or they could be the team that played in the Barn yesterday.

Iowa will beat both Minnesota and Illinois in Carver. Just have to take care of business at PSU and Nebraska. That Nebraska game scares the **** outta me.

Have you seen Minny's remaining schedule? Especially their next 4? It's brutal. No way Minny stays in it. I think it comes down to Iowa/Illinois for the 6th and with Iowa's remaining schedule compared to Illinois', plus getting Illinois at home, I give the edge to Iowa....

Minnys last 7 games are Wisky (H), Iowa (A), Ohio St (A), Indiana (H), Penn St (H), Nebby (A) and Purdue (A). The best I can see them doing is 3-4 which would have them finishing 8-10. They have the worst schedule of Iowa/Ill/Minn. Purdue, who is also 5-6, plays Ill(A), Indiana (A), NW (H), Iowa (A), Wisky (A),Mich (H) and Minn (H). Purdue could easily end up 7-11 or 8-10 as NW is probably their only certain win. The Hawks just need to take care of business and they'll be in the NCAA tournament.

We defend the 3 well and Illinois lives and dies by the 3. Purdue is likely to end at 6-12...will take an upset to get to 7-11 IMO. Purdue will likely battle NW for 9th.

Yes they do, and they shot it horribly the first 9 games of the B10 slate, but are now shooting it better, hence Illinois is starting to heat up its shooting.

They almost certainly would have lost yesterday if Williams had played. Minnesota was missing 1 of their top 3 players and still almost won.
