I've been waiting for two years for this team to get an attitude that fits their potential. I don't expect to see it against Illinois but if they don't come out playing like they they want to control their own destiny I won't have a lot of hope for the remaining games. The last two games have been better but is that because the team played better or the quality of the opponent.

Rutgers was a dog...I'll give you that...but no one has gone to Nebraska and hammered them like that. Nebraska is one of those teams that hangs with you with tenacious defense and physical play. That was a colossal beat down and a very encouraging win at a critical time.

As has been the case, what does Iowa do when they have a few games where they have shown their potential? They need follow through tonight...and to come out focused.

The one thing that's different this year, is that this team defends much much better than last year. If we get shots to fall (the big if with this team)...we can play with anyone. It's really encouraging to see Jok and Uthoff really looking to score every time they get the ball with a bit of space. I'm looking forward to see what they look like tonight. Illinois is physical...and will try to get in a scrum with you...can we play that way and get a win. Big test.
