Weren't people really concerned that KF was going to leave when he had success? Look where that got us. Just sayin.
Oh, and I heart Fran.
Oh, and I heart Fran.
Yah I read all of that after his hiring at Iowa. Definitely butt hurt. The only concerns I have is once Iowa is fully back next year is if the Irish's program starts to drag will they try to poach Fran from us? He and the wifey pooh are alumni I believe.
I don't think he's going anywhere when you look at his situation. He's in his early 50s. He's got young boys. He finally made it to a major conference program (that some consider to be the best basketball conference right now) after paying his dues for years as an assistant and mid-major coach. Assuming his ever increasing success at Iowa, I don't see him pulling up stakes 2-5 years from now, to move to another place to coach for 7-10 years before he retires. If he was in his 30s or early 40s, in the early stages of a career as a rising talent, it would be more of a chance that could happen.
As to ND, his wife went there, he went to Penn. Further, even though not true in this instance as it relates to ND, the notion that coaches can't wait to come back to coach at their alma mater is way over-stated.
There were plenty of other people who liked the hire, but once again your viewpoint was just based on taking a contrarian stance and says nothing about your basketball knowledge.
You are joking, right?on other sites I didn't see that as their were a few Siena fans Bragging Fran up and congratulating Iowa on the hire I get the impression they new a Big Time program would hire him away from them,
as for ND no way will they get him if he gets Iowa up there, Iowa is in the BT one of the top conferences in the country, so why would he leave.. ND would be a lateral move at best
