If Kinnick would get renovated again???

the road (Stadium Drive) just goes from Hawkins to the parking lot on the west side of the rec building. so it really technically doesnt serve a purpose to the city of IC so I don't think they could care less

Actually, the first additions made will be suites/club seats on the East side--I've heard Barta say this personally. He didn't say it would happen soon, but if they got to the point where it was possible, they would start there. And whether you agree with it or not, it makes the most sense from a revenue perspective.

and has been proven, or made known...... where exactly? Their only worry would be having accessible routes to and from the hospital. As long as this is maintained they could not "veto" any expansion effort. Previously mentioned "water tower" projects are the only thing that the UHIC can decide upon.

People on here are talking about demolishing or moving parking ramp three which is operated and owned by UIHC. Also, there has been talk for some time of UIHC expanding northwest and demolishing the WJ building. If that is a trend then I would assume that any demolition of parking ramp three would result in new hospital facilities.

Kinnick is great, but in the grand scheme of importance and finances, UIHC is king. It will be a shame, but I assume that within the next few decades Kinnick will be demolished and replaced.

1) The water tower use to say Iowa on it, and i dont know how a simple tigerhawk hurts safety reasons

Did the hospital have a helicopter landing pad 150 meters away when the water-tower was painted? I assume that any risk is rationale for a white water tower. If it was clear to have a tigerhawk, there would probably be one there.

Again, that isn't going to happen, It was on the table before doing the renovations and was WAY too expensive like I already pointed out a couple of pages ago if they were going to rebuild it would have already happened.

The Fieldhouse will be gone long before Kinnick ever is and as I pointed out again a couple of pages ago the outpatient clinic that the UIHC is building in Coralville will allow them to expand because of all the space it will open up in the buildings that are already there.

And for the post about expansion on the east side that isn't possible, there isn't enough room for Kinnick to expand which would be need to accommodate the weight of anything they put on top of the east stands

The Fieldhouse will be torn down within a couple years. The new rec center has an awesome new pool, but I guess they give these things a year to judge its stability. Once they are confident in the pool, they are shutting down the Fieldhouse, and then it will eventually be torn down.

hoffa, you may already know this, just sharing with others.

Field house will be torn down to make way for hospital expansion. Ramp #2 is going to be torn down to make space for the new Children's Hospital that is set to be built next couple of years. So at best a new kinnick renovation in the next 10 years seems very unlikely.

I said in the next few decades. That isn't exactly the immediate future. If it was an option on the table before, it will be again. The structure is not permanent, and at some point it will have to come down. If it stands in the way of hospital expansion it will be gone.

Why are you brining up the UIHC outpatient facility? When I am talking about UIHC expansion I'm not talking about places you go when you have a cold or need a check-up. I am talking about big-budget research facilities used to obtain NIH grants that would bring in more than double the cost of the new outpatient clinic project in a single year. After a couple of years the money from those grants would minimalize the cost of a new stadium.

Eventually the hospital will overtake the stadium. Enjoy it as it is in the present, it is a great setup and we should be happy to experience it.

This is a funny thread. They aren't going to fill in the corners. Why people keep asking about that, or even talking about that is beyond me. If you know anything about it, it's simply not possible.

Really? You just can't understand how not everyone has exactly the same knowledge base on the subject that you apparently have?

The structure is not permanent? No kidding but how long has it been there?

There are a ton of buildings around the hospital that will be on the list of being torn down long before Kinnick will be.

As for the outpaitent clinic, I was pointing that out because it will give the UIHC a lot more room to expand in areas that were taken up by clinics. I never said it would end the UIHC's need for expansion just that it would help in the short term for the space they always seem to need, just as the Fieldhouse will someday.

Why would they go after Kinnick and not the Baseball Field? as mentioned before their are many other buildings that will go long before they lay a pinkie on Kinnick. get a grip! There is a reason they call it "legendary" Kinnick Stadium.
