The City of Iowa City might, just saying.
Or UIHC, who actually owns that land, or the survey crews who'll have to do the realignment of the road, etc.....

and has been proven, or made known...... where exactly? Their only worry would be having accessible routes to and from the hospital. As long as this is maintained they could not "veto" any expansion effort. Previously mentioned "water tower" projects are the only thing that the UHIC can decide upon.
1) The water tower use to say Iowa on it, and i dont know how a simple tigerhawk hurts safety reasons
Kinnick is great, but in the grand scheme of importance and finances, UIHC is king. It will be a shame, but I assume that within the next few decades Kinnick will be demolished and replaced.
Again, that isn't going to happen, It was on the table before doing the renovations and was WAY too expensive like I already pointed out a couple of pages ago if they were going to rebuild it would have already happened.
The Fieldhouse will be gone long before Kinnick ever is and as I pointed out again a couple of pages ago the outpatient clinic that the UIHC is building in Coralville will allow them to expand because of all the space it will open up in the buildings that are already there.
And for the post about expansion on the east side that isn't possible, there isn't enough room for Kinnick to expand which would be need to accommodate the weight of anything they put on top of the east stands
This is a funny thread. They aren't going to fill in the corners. Why people keep asking about that, or even talking about that is beyond me. If you know anything about it, it's simply not possible.
I said in the next few decades. That isn't exactly the immediate future. If it was an option on the table before, it will be again. The structure is not permanent, and at some point it will have to come down. If it stands in the way of hospital expansion it will be gone.
Why are you brining up the UIHC outpatient facility? When I am talking about UIHC expansion I'm not talking about places you go when you have a cold or need a check-up. I am talking about big-budget research facilities used to obtain NIH grants that would bring in more than double the cost of the new outpatient clinic project in a single year. After a couple of years the money from those grants would minimalize the cost of a new stadium.
Eventually the hospital will overtake the stadium. Enjoy it as it is in the present, it is a great setup and we should be happy to experience it.
