If Iowa gets that interception instead of a bs defensive holding call..........

Hold on kirksey was right in front of me and ******* ridiculous. Then the umpire throws a nickel and dime ******** hold on Iowa the play before duzeys td. Bferentz absolutely unloaded on that umpire after Iowa scored the entire tv timeout.

I feel bad for the d. Yes, they have a great offense. And I get not putting a spy on miller because he's that good. But why not try something else? I get not wanting to give up a big play, but at some point you see that we haven't stopped them at all.

I digress because we all know nothing was going to change to make sure that they had to grind it out.

I think we've all (including the coaches) seen enough to know what would have happened if we had gone to the blitz consistently. I honestly think they made the right call this time by playing soft. I don't always agree with it, but we were better off making OSU string together long drives than by just giving them points because we got burned. This secondary can't hold up under the pressure of blitzes consistently, if at all.

did anyone find it strange that Hyde's goal line dive didn't get replay?

You must have missed it, but they did replay it a few minutes afterward and the tip of the ball did cross the plane unfortunately. The defensive back did hold on that int also, would have been nice to see the ref miss that one there. Ohio st. just flat-out made some amazing plays when it had too (miller 3rd down run, hyde spin out touchdown). The way meyer reacted when his team kneeled down, you knew he knew they just won a battle.

The officiating in this game wasn't all that bad either. The call for holding on that reciever push-off was the one I didnt understand, but other than that Ohio state flat-out beat us with athleticism. We can sugarcoat certain things all we want to, but Ohio states best players made plays when it mattered most. Iowa surely had an opportunity to win this though.

Not much of a case for blatant bias in the officiating in this game. We all know the league “blue bloodsâ€￾ tend to get the benefit of the doubt on officiating, more so than the plebs. It is generally true in all sporting, to a degree. Nothing new here.

Thanks-must have been in route to the frig when the replay was on.

The holding call on Lowery was legit. It'd be tough to commit a more blatant foul than that.

The second holding call (where the receiver pushed off and was wide open for a first down) was BS.

I don't think the Lowery call was as blatant as you say. He was handsy, but the receiver fell down on his own (perhaps to help get the call).

The second call was a legit call. It was in Hitchens, and he definitely grabbed the receiver.

The pushoff never happened. King turned to run with the reciever just as the receiver was cutting the route off. Like you, I thought there was a clear pushoff. But, I just watched it again, and alas it wasn't.

I did think the OSU offense got away with several holds. Especially on the edge that allowed Miller and Hyde to get outside. Holds on Ott, Kirksey, and Meier. Two of which led directly to first downs that extended the long drives for OSU (and one on Hydes TD run).

I was surprised there wasn't a closer look at it. As I was watching the game, I thought its close enough they should take a minute to review it; but the booth must've been satisfied with the replay.

Are you really this stupid? It was a blatant hold, this thread is full of complete losers crying like babies, the officiating wasn't pro OSU any fashion whatsoever.

??????? Everything in Eda's post was absolutely correct. He was actually watching the game.

I suppose you thought the incompletion to Powell on a 3rd down (3rd quarter, if I recollect correctly) was a blatant pass interference too. The OSU defender was handsy, grabbed some jersey, and pushed the receiver on that play. If its a penalty on one side, it should be a penalty both on sides. I'm sure you'll disagree tho.

Allllllsssoooo, I never said the officiating was favoring to one side or the other. I pointed out some missed calls and gave my opinion on some other calls. Overall, the officiating wasn't bad; just missed on a couple things.

But your post does present a terrific argument (roll eyes and read with sarcasm), and I can tell you know lot 'o stuff about football (cqts).

If I would have picked the right numbers I'd be a millionaire. Stupid numbers.
Dude, you are broke...if your financial advisor hasnt gotten back to you, there is a reason....you bet the FARM on O$U to cover "big time", you obviously have nothing left after your "sure" thing. Sorry. ;)

Just a question: How many penalties were called on OSU after the ejection of their CB early in the game? And, a suggestion: If you DVR'd the game, watch the second half and when OSU attacks the edge against Iowa (a good move, I might add), try counting the offensive holdings that you can pick out. Then, count the number of holding calls against Iowa in the second half. Draw your own conclusions.

If you don't think the flag on Lowery was the right call, then stop watching football. Just stop.

Aside from about 1 or 2 guys, nobody is saying it was an incorrect call. The point is that it was pretty minor, and Iowa did not get the break. Meanwhile, OSU was bear hugging guys on the edge, and it apparently was invisible. OSU was the better team, and Iowa needed some breaks to beat them. It didn't happen.

I was thinking that Iowa was going to score at the end, recover an onside and get called for offside and lose to Urban...again.

This makes me want to puke.

It was not minor. It was blatant. Far worse than anything that OSU got away with on the day. It's time for you to find a new hobby, as this whole "football" thing doesn't seem to be working out for you.

You are correct that the call was legit. Your "Far worse" comment is absolutely incorrect. The insult was inappropriate.
