if fran gets it turned around...

Used to think this would be his last stop but if he is successful he will move back east to turn around a once proud school that has become apathetic. He will get sick of the small fishbowl that is Iowa Basketball as Lute did. Love having him as the Hawkeye coach but if he is as successful as we all want and hope, the spotlight from better teams, recruiting locations will be on him dangling the carrot.

If someone follows his career at Iowa he has proven to have a lot of desirable attributes a school would want in their coach. I doubt he would have trouble getting another job if he wanted it.

I guess I'm thinking the opposite of you Chankinks. I used to think that Fran could leave at some point. But the support he's gotten concerning his son's cancer crisis seems to have cemented Fran's relationship with the university and eastern Iowa.

You may be right but people overcome all kinds of hurdles in life, move on and still maintain relationships ect. If he is successful then more power too him because we all get to enjoy the ride and hopefully he leaves a better product that he started with :)
