Tough sports weekend as i am longtime Hawkeye fan as well as Bears fan.
After the 55-14 beatsown from the Packers last night, here's what Marc Trestman had to say from ESPN.com....
"I'm responsible for the play of this football team -- and it's not good enough right now. That's where we are," Bears coach Marc Trestman said.

It would be nice to hear Ferentz say something remotely similar and acknowledge his role in the teams performance.

I don't think were gonna hear anything like that until KF is truly burning from the hot seat and with this team bowling not gonna happen. We will probably beat Illinois and split the Wisky or Nebby games and go 8-4 with a Florida bowl which is what the Captain's true goals are. Ive accepted that fact KF will finish his contract at Iowa no matter what and I hope he has one more run in him before he retires

You will NEVER hear that from him. Why? Because he honestly thinks that he is doing a good job...because nobody that "he" feels counts ever tells him any different. I've never seen anyone get so prickly over even the lightest hint of criticism or questioning of decisions...that alone indicates that he feels its undeserved.

He also brought up being bowl eligible didn't he? Proof that all is well in the world as far as he is concerned.

"We were outcoached....and outplayed"

It's not exact...but it's close.

Honestly, he could whip himself like Silas during the presser, and it wouldn't change anything.

Kirk did own it after the Minny game...watch the post game interview.

There is a big difference between mentioning it in a presser and actually doing something about it. If anyone really believes he will change his ways going forward; I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

At the end of the day the fans feel cheated, robed, deprived. That thing that is held so precious, that thing that brings joy, instead brings pain. How dare Kirk Ferentz deprive me of my pleasure! And we want our recompense we want our pound of flesh.

He routinely states that he was outcoached after losses. Its just coach speak, doesn't mean anything.

"...if you all will bear with me, We're going to try a different tack to return to competitive football here at Iowa. It may take some further time to perfect it, but we will implement a new strategy immediately this week. There are some major changes that need to be addressed here, and I intend to try my best to correct the poor performances that have been produced this year, and in recent past years."

"I know that many of you as fans and program contributors have become frustrated recently, and it is justly fair. This is my program to fix right now. Somehow what we've been doing, has not been getting it done to be a national top twenty program. I am responsible for that, however, I have some bright advisors and confidantes, and I believe that we, rather I, can get this done."

"It starts today with our game plan for this week, and carries over to our current recruiting and weekly coaching. We will address our weaknesses top to bottom and move forward appropriately, so as to return this program to national prominence."

"I desire to produce the results that are expected of me and our fine university. These changes will take time to impliment , but again, I ask for your continued patience and support of the University of Iowa, our student athletes, our coaching staff, and our entire football program. Thank you and Go Hawks!"

"CJ is going to be our starting quarterback going forward" is what I'd like to hear.

"CJ is going to be our starting quarterback going forward."

"I've personally contacted Derrick Willies and asked him to return to Iowa. He's going to be out on the field more."

"We're going to have Damon Powell and his speed out there more from now on."

"Greg Davis has decided to retire at the end of the season."

"We're going to look at restucturing what we do on offense after this season. We'll be looking at bringing in a quarterback who can run the ball."

"We're going to mix it up more on defense and play less cover 2"

"We're going to move Mark Weisman to fullback and short yardage specialist. We're going to get Wadley and Canzeri on the field more."

And then I woke up from my dream.........

Sure hope you are right I was thinking 6-6 and Yankee stadium in the snow:cool:

What do you NOT understand about this statement, which has been made by KF on more than one occasion: "We were out coached."
