I would like to hear Ferentz say this just once.....

He routinely states that he was outcoached after losses. Its just coach speak, doesn't mean anything.

So, what do you suggest? Do you want to have him break down, sob, give back a bunch of his salary, then resign? Sorry, but your statement is just flat dumb.

Tough sports weekend as i am longtime Hawkeye fan as well as Bears fan.
After the 55-14 beatsown from the Packers last night, here's what Marc Trestman had to say from ESPN.com....
"I'm responsible for the play of this football team -- and it's not good enough right now. That's where we are," Bears coach Marc Trestman said.

It would be nice to hear Ferentz say something remotely similar and acknowledge his role in the teams performance.

Here in Chicago, Trestman is getting scorched for his presser. They have labeled him as out of touch, and delusional. He said '' the locker room is strong...it is good right now'' and that is getting total derision in this town.

KF's first comment after the game Saturday, was that we got outcoached. How many different ways can he say that enough to satisfiy you.
Just like with Trestman it is coach-speak and that is what they do. Go off that ****** and you get a Mike Gundy saying...''I'm a man!''...

None of it matters cept winning next week now. And hopefully, quietly making the changes that are needed personnel wise. It is like Green Bay last week, not telling anyone, media included that they were going to move Clay Matthews to middle lber for the first time ever...it surprised the Bears and they never got it figured out.....do that, KF....surprise us on Saturday not in today's presser....ok?

"CJ is going to be our starting quarterback going forward."

"I've personally contacted Derrick Willies and asked him to return to Iowa. He's going to be out on the field more."

"We're going to have Damon Powell and his speed out there more from now on."

"Greg Davis has decided to retire at the end of the season."

"We're going to look at restucturing what we do on offense after this season. We'll be looking at bringing in a quarterback who can run the ball."

"We're going to mix it up more on defense and play less cover 2"

"We're going to move Mark Weisman to fullback and short yardage specialist. We're going to get Wadley and Canzeri on the field more."

And then I woke up from my dream.........

Forgot one.

"Should we go 6-6 we won't accept a bowl invitation to the Little Caeser's Bowl or whichever bowl. We have higher expectations than that here at Iowa and the players and I have agreed to forego and invitation to such a bowl."

"I must have overlooked that, I think you are on to something son, thanks for the sugesstion, we'll try that out....now please pass the butter".

That's football. Sometimes you get outcoached in spite of weeks of preparation. We've been going over the basics with the coaching staff all week and, you know, I'd think the probabilities should favor this staff being prepared to compete at a fairly high level.

"I'm a little teapot short and stout. Here is my handle. Here is my spout. When I get all steamed up, hear me shout! Just tip me over, and pour me out."

I wish they didn't make it look so impossible to move the ball on offense (bears and hawks, that is)
