I want OSU to lose

Cause they ain't playing the SEC.

it's 8:27 PM on NYE.
I just put on those two braying waffles at Times Square on CNN. They just showed some terrible singer lady and then they started talking about Labubus and merkins.

Is it OK if I just go to Perkins.

I mean, it's OK if I just go watch Korean romance dramas and fall asleep long before midnight right?

Do we need to be concerned for your well-being? Because it’s never OK to want to watch Korean romance dramas. Unless of course they are a proven fast acting sedative.

I thought OSU looked like they really didn’t want to be there. Lots of opt out’s, long lay off, loss to Indiana. Poor culture. Miami was flat out aggressive and ready to go.

Alabama is getting embarrassed and I love it. Cignetti is running up the score. Good.
F@@@ tide. Now 38-3. Still 10:00 to go.

I will never, ever understand how Indiana evolved over night.
Nobody saw that coming... But with how this yr went I did see Indiana smoking Bama coming. Bama got down 17-0 their previous game and I said then to my brother they damn well better not get down 17-0 against Indiana cause they'll keep their foot on the gas and blow you out. That's exactly how it went.

Bama didn't deserve that playoff spot frankly. Everyone kept saying that was between Miami and ND. Well that wasn't the case Bama with their terrible loss to FSU stuck out like a sore thumb to me. If Bama and Indiana played 10 times Indiana rolls them 8 or more of em. I think the better game woulda been had ND been in. I'm no ND fan I'm really glad they got screwed honestly they should be in a conference. But from just an on the field aspect they woulda gave Indiana more a run for their money.

I think Notre Dame got what they deserved but I'll also agree Alabama (along with the entire $EC) was over rated.

When you look at each teams body of work Notre Dames best wins were at Pitt and against USC and overall they went 2-2 against ranked teams. Then when you look at Alabama they have the benefit of playing highly ranked teams due to the $EC bias which led to them having 4 wins in a row against highly ranked teams. OTOH, I'm leaning towards the idea that a 1 loss $EC team probably should get into a 12 team playoff field and that the loss in the conference title game shouldn't be held against them.

So what this all boils down too, at least for me, is Notre Dame needs to stop screwing around and get into a conference already. Had they officially been in the ACC and reached the title game they would probably gotten into the CFP. So, again, ND got what they deserved.

Then there is the argument that ND getting screwed out of CFP spot wasn't an entirely bad thing. It didn't help the Big Ten in the standings, but it did help produce some good matchups for the Big Ten.

Totally. I'm not crying for ND by any means. If anything I'm happy with how that went too. I just think from an individual game perspective ND being in woulda made for a better game then what Bama did

Well, A more evenly matched game might have been better in a conventional sense. On the other hand, watching Alabama getting curb stomped by Indiana was a very satisfying spectacle.

Don't forget that Alabama took control of the first-round game against Oklahoma. It was a pass happy affair, Alabama had 29 passing attempts, Oklahoma 41.

In my opinion if anyone got screwed it was Texas just due to their schedule. They played a much more difficult schedule when compared to ND so not sure why ND is getting all the attention. Texas had the guts to schedule an early road game at OSU which will always be highly ranked. ND just keeps cutting older rivalry teams from the BIG 10 such as Michigan, Michigan State, and others. They need to join a conference and if they don't any "agreement" they have with the CFP needs to end immediately. Geographically and Academically the BIG 10 makes the most sense.

I'm as neutral as it gets as I hate ND, Bama, and Miami, but I think the committee got it absolutely right if it truly came down to 2 of those 3 making it. Can argue until your blue in the face that Bama didn't belong and I get that argument, but at the same time I can't rationally look at the situation and say that ND deserved that spot.

Sure Bama got absolutely destroyed by IU, but Bama won the first round game with Oklahoma which IMO closes the door on them not belonging, from that perspective. Now on the ND side of things...spin it the other way. Look at it from a different perspective and compare resumes only not history, not popularity, but solely based on their resume this season. They were 0-2 vs. playoff teams with a head to head loss against a team that got picked over them, they were 2-2 vs. top 25 teams with those two wins coming against teams in the 20-25 range and played a schedule of power 5 doormats. Sure they lost to the 2 games at the beginning of the season by a combined 4 points, but in any conference they'd of had an opportunity to play a conference championship that would most likely have been against a top 20 team. You simply cannot reward them for their garbage schedule and no great wins.

Disassociate Notre Dame from that resume and no one is saying that team deserves to get in to the playoffs. So IMO it's easy to say that Bama shouldn't have got in because of their 3 losses, but just because Bama may not have belonged there doesn't mean that ND did.

Totally agree as I said in the previous post it's easy for people to make a case that Bama didn't belong, but how you make a case that ND did is beyond me. If it did come down solely to Miami, Bama and ND for the last two spots, I firmly believe the committee got it right. Now there are a few programs, Texas definitely one of them, that I believe there's a very good case in getting in over Bama if it wasn't solely between those final 3 programs.

Well. At least if ND had gotten in, I could have enjoyed watching them lose, then follow up reading the excuses for the loss.

Who do you think did? One can't say Bama didn't deserve to be in without being replaced. I just think ND woulda given Indiana a closer game more then anything. Hell I think I agree with Scott Dochterman and think Iowa is better then Alabama. Bama just wasn't that good. Yeah NDs resume wasn't anything to brag about which was their main problem and will continue to be.
