I think Uthoff will be a Hawkeye

someone really really smart said two months ago that the sitting out a year wouldnt get in the way of him going wherever he wanted.

intentional trolling and offering opinions (even if I don't agree with them) are different things.

Even though my post towards 'drummer was in jest, how can a post in which he said he watched every single one of Uthoff's games last year, when everyone knows Uthoff redshirted last year, not be considered trolling?

you get an assist

Seriously guys..trolling? All I said was I think JU might be overrated. And the fact that he didn't play as a true Frosh might seem to support that opinion. Bo's own comments "He'll play, and he'll play early" would seem to back that up.

Is that so tough to grasp?

If anything that quote proves that your statements look like a bunch of bologna. He said that after he was there practicing with the team so he was obviously looking very good at that time.

He didn't play because he chose to redshirt.

I don't like Bo, but he's a pretty good coach and I'll take his word on a player over yours.

You may be right. He might turn out to be nothing..but next time you want to badmouth someone, you might not want to include a quote from his former coach raving about how good he was to prove your point.

Add to that that Bo was went to heavy extremes to make things rough on JU, while making a total as.... of himself. It is very doubtful he would have gone that far with it had the kid not been player.

I just watched the highlight video of this kid and honstly I'm not all that exicited about him. Sounds to me like Fran feels the same way...

hed be a nice player. the problem is white plays the same position and doest just about everything a little better.

I believe it is only a plus if Fran takes him.
1. Sounds like he did work hard in his redshirt year, enough to impress Bo Ryan and for Ryan to not want to lose him.
2. A plus at retaining an in-state star, or at least getting one back, could pay off in keeping future Iowa HS players here. ex losing Paige, Collison, etc.
3. A year to work with Iowa staff, hard work could get him in shape like Gatens was last year and he could produce right away.
4. Never hurts to have another 6' 8" guy around....

You may be right gohawkz. I was merely saying that I was offering an opinion...not "trolling".

I think it would be good if he picks Iowa, for a couple of reasons...it may put a dent in Bo's recruiting in Iowa and having him pick Iowa over ISU is a positive.

What his contribution would be, remains to be seen.

How could FrannieMac not want a 6'8" white kid who passes the ball like that?

He could be the second coming of "White Magic".;)
