I Think Iowa vs Indiana Would Be A Hell Of A Matchup

It would be. What would be even better is Northwestern comes down with covid and can't play in the title game. Iowa gets picked as the replacement.

But if Iowa were to beat Wisconsin and Indiana....maybe we could get New Years 6 bowl.

I think it is a guaranteed matchup unless OSU-Michigan is cancelled. I believe if Northwestern has a COVID outbreak before the Big Ten championship, they would just be declared co-champs with OSU (that's how the rules are written).

One subplot is that Iowa opens at home vs Indiana on Labor Day weekend. Another would be that the winner might sneak their way into NY6 discussion (pending the outcomes of next weekend's games).

Indiana is good and will throw a lot of different blitzes at Petras. Fields has his worst game in college vs IU. But, with their starting QB out hopefully Iowa could create some turnovers.

Man that really sucks. I did not read how that all worked out. That is pretty lame of the conference to just declare them CO-Champs. I mean, if Mrs. Universe can't hold the crown, they give the runner-up the keys to the kingdom. Of course, if everyone was bumped up one slotting....the last place team would be without a game....but who would care right?

I actually think we MAY play OSU. Unless BIG changes it's rules, OSU will NOT be playing in BIG title game, because there is NO WAY Mich plays OSU next week, knowing that will allow OSU into title game (plus they will be prolific underdogs).

If we beat Wisky, I think we play OSU. But, lose that, a 3-loss IA will be below 2-loss WIsky, and we play Maryland.

Obviously, that’s a big topic here in OH. I had this conversation with my son in law over the Thanksgiving holiday. The attitude here is that OF COURSE the B1G will change the rules, because this is the Bucknut’s conference!

But there’s been no definitive insider info that’s been shared other than promoting Barry’s comments.

Wisconsin looking beatable, more so this year than prior years............to be honest, after our 0-2 start I didn't think we would win more than 2-3 games. Thank you Phil Parker!

I would tend to agree. Ohio State is the B1G's only playoff hope so you know damn well the B1G will do what is needed to ensure they are eligible.

Is playing in, and winning your conference title game required to be in playoff?

Beating Indiana would be the first win this year over a team with a winning record. The last two games were hard fought. Iowa learned to contend with adversity. This is important.

I wonder if the kid from West Union/Fayette would be in attendance and announce that he is now committed to the local high school as night janitor. No offense to night janitors. Harris.

Our physicality affected the Fighting Lovies as the game went on. Receivers stopped laying out for receptions. Merriweather and Hankins started asserting themselves. Peters pulled up short instead of diving for the line to gain when he saw Campbell lurking. Nixon was Nixon. Koerner was physical. It reminded me of the Mississippi State Outback Bowl when we got off to the slow start, then asserted our physicality. You could feel the momentum turning in our favor as it got close to halftime, even as we were leaving points on the field by settling for fg attempts.

If Wisky beats us they will have 2 losses and we will have 3. Wisc would play Indy and we would get Maryland, I assume.
Yeah, the B1G will do whatever it takes to put them in a position to represent us in the playoffs, including allowing the dead to vote.

Nope. Outside of the championship, the Big Ten said they would try to avoid repeats (IU just beat Wisconsin). I think there will be a push for Wisconsin-Minnesota too.
