I Really Enjoy Watching Iowa State.

Anybody else want to man up and admit that you find yourself enjoying watching State play? Can't be just me.

I have only peeked in on them now and again as I would even rather watch other Big 10 games if our future opponents are playing. I was born and raised in Des MOines, left to go to the U and spent about 15 years around Iowa City. Been back in Des MOines since 85. I used to like to watch ISU highlights a long time ago but I have always just been a big Iowa fan. ISU is fun to watch, heck they have been off and on with some decent teams.

Now if some of you have read my posts over the past 6-7 years you know how boring I think Iowa's offense is and I even picked on the Parker's bend but dont break style, or prevent the victory defense.

You know my whole attitude against Kirk's super conservative nature, I have called him out for some of the dumbest game time management decisions, and I would always like to see more players get some time to find the playmakers.

But most of all it is the conservatism. The hawks threw 4 passes over 25 yards last Saturday and we got a 28 yard TD, a 45 yard completion on a WOW catch, a PI, and one incompletion. 3 out of 4, 75% which is better than Kirk's win %.

jNW crowded the line and dared us to pass it deep and we could have done it successfully a lot more.

I hate to see the waste that is going on especially with the offense year in and year out.

Iowa State scored 3 points against us. EXCITING!!!!! And no one in the Big 12 plays defense. Look at the scores from this last saturday. Okay I guess Kansas and K State played a lower scoring one.

Yes the scores are higher, last I checked what difference does it make if the scores are high or low? It's about getting more points than your opponent.

FWIW, Iowa and ISU are virtually the same in yards per play on defense. Iowa has 4.5 and ISU 4.8.

I would use Keith Richards underwear as a coffee filter before I would root for those dick bags in lames.

Have some fucking pride in yourselves, people.

Just because the Mets suck doesn't mean their fans start watching the Yankees for funsies.

Jesus...

Cool then an Iowa offense scoring 17 points should be good if scoring 1 more point than other guy is what matters.

Amen to that! There are places we just should not go!

How about scoring defense? Where we at in comparison?

Are you yelling?

Hey dude, I'm about one win over Texas away from sporting a new Iowa State Football T-shirt!

Let me preface this by saying that I'm not one or have ever been one to have to hate the other school in the state just because I'm a true fan of the Hawkeyes. They are my first luv, as a team goes. I've tuned in to Iowa State in the past to watch just as a general fan with a little interest in the in-state Clones.

But, I hate to say that I really enjoy watching Iowa State play. You know you are going to tune-in and the game is going to be exciting. They probably have the best and most aggressive defense in the Big 12 and they have an exciting QB, one who makes plays. With Iowa, your not sure your going to get an exciting game at all and most the past few years have been quite boring to watch.

I think Ferentz and Iowa have to be real careful here as there is that chance of a shift in the state. Yes, you are still gonna have all the die-hard Hawk fans but the national attention is focusing on our brethren at this point. Matt Campbell is doing a terrific job there and making Iowa play 2nd fiddle. Sure, he might be gone after this year, but say he stays.

Good for you. Go watch Iowa State then...because...sure as consistent if not good programs can have a "down year" or not fulfill expectations, (not to negate the culture Mack Crandall is building there), historically s*^t programs are bound to have a good year or two.

We need to do something different, but the sky is not falling. In the words of a former Iowa player who's a fairly good acquaintance, "Why would I care how Iowa State looks or does? I'm a Hawkeye." There's only once a year we should "care" about them as Hawkeyes fans, IMHO. Outside of that, wish them well, but I would rather watch ND, LSU, Hawaii or Fresno State on late night ball than watch any team from what ACTUALLY is a crap conference.

I'd rather watch Kirk-boring-like and predictable Hawkeye football in which we score 10 points, say, in a game, than watch ISU play flawless football and when 63-0.

I haven't actually watched them but I have kept track and not just because my wife is an ISU grad. I will never be a cyclone fan but I am also not a hater and right now, they are putting the better product on the field. It upsets my stomach but it is 100% true.
Hawks just look tired and defeated. Makes me sad.
