I might get banned for this, but...

At last a ray of sunshine hits this board.

Yeah, but Great news like this doesn't fit the whiney, thumb-sucker, anti-football, anti-Barta
pinheads, running around trying to blame Iowa football for all kinds of bad stuff.

In fact, I heard Hawkeye Football was partly responsible for looting in Ferguson.

DOH

Any recruit that passes on Iowa is not making a good decision. Just look at what the program does in developing student athletes. I wish more athletes would see this and make the right decision.

As EVERYONE knows, Iowa is the HAWKEYE state

I know some people wish the program stood on a more solid foundation than it currently does and would like to see more wins, especially with the amount of NFL players coming out of IC. But where have you read about people blaming Iowa football for "all kinds of bad stuff"? Just curious:confused:

Sounds like you're whining.

You're making a huge mistake. Players from Iowa that make it to the NFL is an example of individual accomplishment and all Hawk fans are happy for each player that does make it to the NFL. But this is not a team accomplishment. Iowa fans are rooting for team accomplishment, which is based on winning and losing. So, using the number of players that make it to the NFL as a "team" accomplishment is in error. What you can extrapolate from the quantity of players making it to the NFL is that there should be a higher likelihood for team wins based on a higher quantity of players making it to the NFL. That clearly is not the case at Iowa.

I'm not a Kirk-hater. Neiter am I his lap dog.

That is good (and shocking) news. There is definitely praise that should be handed out for that kind of high success.

As it has been noted with that kind of success of putting individuals at the top level of football the obvious and fundamental question is why has there not been comparative success on a level down for a team in the penultimate team game

.So why hasn't there?

Ultimately that's up to KF to figure out.

And he hasn't for several seasons.

I laud KF for wanting high graduation rates and academic success and he gets those results. That is a high priority for me as an alumus, Iowa resident, and fan. Iowa has great football student athlete academic success and NFL draft success which should be highly marketed to recruits and especially their parents. I dont know what the coaches say to recruits but I hope it is not low key like KF is most of the time. I can only imagine how great it is to put on that uniform and play at Kinnick if you are a recruit even slightly thinking of coming to Iowa or getting feelers from Iowa coaches.

Still I want to see more wins as a fan especially beating teams we should by sounder margins so come on coaches lets get higher on the recruiting ratings and still get good kids

Would you rather have zero draft picks and 10 wins a year or 6 wins a year and all these draft picks?

10 wins a year but it is a circular argument because if you need really good players to get 10 wins a year and if you consistently win 10 wins a year then you have he really good players and they will be drafted.

Unfortunately, Iowa doesnt get many players drafted that score TDs in a single play in college or in the pros. KF does need to get playmakers and let them play, which I dont think he has much lately sort of making them play half handcuffed.

Its not an argument, it's a hypothetical question.

The point is draft picks without wins are next to worthless.
