I like Iowa under the radar...

I know Iowa is going to get more exposure and air time with their continued success, but I like it better when they're flying under the radar.

I don't. Iowa in the radar means better recruits and better recruits means a larger margin for error to put it in KF terms.

Contrary to popular belief, more talented doesn't necessarilly mean ******* thug who will get arrested the moment they step on campus. Look at Colt McCoy and Tim Tebow and Matt Barkley. Great people on and off the field.

Iowa can get that type of talent if they continue winning. They get that type of talent anyway in kids no one else looks at, but they can begin to get even more of it with more exposure.

Especially when we stop playing with every other team still rockin and rollin. Thats when the under the radar will be brought to an all new level.

I like the angle for motivation but it time to start getting noticed as a player, otherwise the polls are going to bury us.

I understand and agree with all of the points given. I just like sneakin' up on people and beatin' them down.
And if you think about it, with the disrespect most of the media is giving the Hawks, we are kinda' under the radar

It looks like the underdog/under-the-radar is working for this team - they have something to prove, with a chip on the shoulder, but not so much as to be bitter about it - a sort of level-headed, foxhole-type focus. Under the radar works until December, when the final BCS ranking comes out - by that time (if they run the tables) they have proved it all. For the future, I like the idea of 3- or 4-star recruits that have little arrogance about them, like most of the 5-stars do - like corn-fed beasts from the midwest This is Iowa, and that's how we play football - I love it!

This is also the attitude that worked so well for this team in 2002.

This team doesn't wow you on paper, but rest assured they bring thier lunch to work. You won't out work this team.

I disagree about the sentiments that the Hawks will go to the Cap One Bowl if they float under the radar. Compared to the marquis teams, we are still floating under the radar and getting very little respect. If we win out, we will be in the Rose Bowl at the very worst and I'd be willing to bet that it will be for a title. We'll need some upsets but they are bound to happen especially since Alabama will probably play Florida in the SEC title game not to mention they are playing LSU this week. Bottom line is that Iowa needs to take care of its own business and the rest will take care of itself. Under the radar or not. Respect or not.
