I have seen the future (I hope)

And his name is Kurt Alexander. He's #3 in the dark uni on the somewhat choppy video linked below.

Simply put, this guy has what we need. Good handler with either hand, can get to the hoop, good form on his shot, good FT shooter, long armed. Light a fire under him on D and you have a kid who could fit in at Villanova.

Let's get him!

He's #3.

Looks like he would be a good fit for PG, nice handles, confident, and attacks.

I have one question, does he go left? (of course, Andre never did, and they couldnt stop him). SO, would it be Cully on the left, Kurt on the right?

No and he shoots. Don't confuse #10 for #3(alexander). He is a shooting guard, stands about 5'10-11. Defensively no. If you can't play defense in D1 you don't win. Assist man no. Rebounding no. Add them all up and it's just another guy that can shoot when left open. So I guess what I am saying is he would be a perfect fit on this team. I went to the Kirkwood game that Lick was at. Coach Wags from Kirkwood put Kaylon Williams(division 1 experience) on him. He scored the first 2 pts. of the game and then was held scoreless for the next 10 mins. He had virtually nothing for assists or rebounds. Lick will be the judge not some put together highlight clip.

I'd not seen Alexander play, but just looking at the numbers left me leaning pretty heavily toward Williams. KW averages around 8 assists per game, KA only 2 or 3. And KW still averages around 15 ppg. I'd much rather have him.

I have never seen Alexander play, but I have to say I have been pulling for Williams. I know he can play well at this level.

Alexander is very good and would be a nice addition and in my opinion, better than KW. I just struggle trying to understand what is taking Lick and staff so long to make an offer to one of these kids. They've seen both of them many times by now, so let's get on with it before other schools start offering and we end up loosing out again.

I especially like at 1:23 of the video.

Kurt drives and makes a layup while fouled......And then proceeds to get up and trash talk the player on the ground.

He has a nice rise and fire game, but nothing in that video really 'stood out' to me.

Kaylon is not flashy, but he gets it done. KW gets my vote.

I would much rather have KW than Alexander. Also i saw on rivals that Alexander is only a 68% FT shooter, thats not too good. Not sure what KW's is but he has proven he can at least play D-1 ball even its the MVC.

At least on these clips Alexander doesn't give it up very much, and I didn't see much D. Might have a different impression after seeing several tapes of whole games.

On Hawktalk the other nite a caller asked about Tucker's open scholly and Lick remained non-commital about using it. He said they will take their time and only use if they find the right player...otherwise they will save it...so I do not expect any news on this for awhile,if at all.

Please tell me you didn't just compare him to Scottie Reynolds, who is one of the best PG's in the nation...

Thats almost as bad as Hooper who said Devon Archie is like Jajuan Johnson.

And I do think he looks good in that video, but I also think the Scottie Reynolds comparison is a little over the top.

We could certainly use a PG like Alexander.

Maybe he is going to offer it to Sparky Lick?

Hey, after all, he 'deserved the right to play in Big Ten basketball games'.

Posting here is sometimes like a game of "telephone," in writing--which, if you think about it, doesn't speak very well for whether some posters bother to actually read before they respond, or of their reading comprehension.

I did not compare Kurt Alexander to Scottie Reynolds. I said he looks like a guard who could fit in at Villanova. Guys who can handle the ball and get to the hole. Villanova is just one of many examples of teams that have guards who could help us riding the pine, because college basketball is a guard's game. Meanwhile, we have just one player on the entire squad who can fairly be called a guard.

Totally off topic, but did anyone notice the annoying B that screamed every time the team in the dark jersey scored?

Dude, please tell me you did NOT just compare Kurt Alexander to Michael Jordan?! And you're already giving him the nickname, "Alexander The Great"?!

Man, I want some of whatever you're smokin'!

Just wanted to beat the next poster to the punch. :p

Hilarious

The 1st time anyone mentioned Reynolds in this thread was when hawkeyes89 used it to bash Freddy, who never mentioned Reynolds. Good times. Keep fighting the good fight Freddy
