I have been pretty quiet lately...time to speak out on Lil Debbie

Not to pile on the big win in Lincoln but I have never seen a team physically abuse another team like I did on Friday. Nebraska was walking or carrying a guy off the field on every other play.

Apparently you haven't watched much physical football.

I'm tired of hearing about how injured Nebraska was and were missing key players- come on- every team has injuries this time of year, hell Iowa's starting a brand new QB this year that had zero meaningful snaps prior to this year and was dinged up himself.

Next man up, you play with what you have. But it still brings into the conversation why injuries were such a big issue for us this year. Was it just a coincidence, or are there problems with strength and conditioning?

With the way Iowa's defense played Friday Martinez would have been one of those carted off the field anyway.

Conjecture is fun. Either way, I would have liked our chances much more if he would have been playing than not playing.

To correct a previous post- Iowa was BOTH the better football team and better coached team Friday.

If Iowa was the better football team, that game wouldn't have been in doubt halfway through the 4th quarter. With all of the short fields they had, that should have been a boat race.

We will agree to disagree on this.

Nebraska needs to realize that it is no longer the 80s or 90s- it's time to embrace the horror.

If I had to chose which team I'd rather have next year, I know which one it would be.

I don't understand how fans watch games, and have such a skewed view of reality. According to you then Nebraska wasn't the better team last year, or two years ago.....game was in doubt in the 4th quarter. According to you OSU, Wisconsin, Mich. St. none were better than Iowa, as all games were in doubt in the 4th quarter.

The simple fact of the matter was Nebraska was better than Iowa in '11, and '12, no matter the score, it was obvious watching the game. Iowa was better than Nebraska in '13, it was obvious watching the game. Only a homer is really gonna disagree with either of these statements.

Make no mistake about it, Iowa deserved to win the game, Nebraska didn't. But, we've beat this to death and see things differently. I'm done, see you next year!

Dude, I'm here, not shy about it. The players did circle the wagons, too bad that they can't hold onto the football or figure out punt returns.

Those that hate Bo are going to point to that little tirade in the second (if I remember correctly) quarter. Quite frankly, those outbursts have been few and far between the past couple of years. I have no problem with what he did or said. That was a horrible call, the refs have been pretty terrible all year, and that was no exception. They deserved the butt chewing and the call out in the presser, but making contact with the ref was over the line. I just find if funny that Bo gets all this coverage for his act, but Saban, Urb, Muschamp, Kelly, etc. don't get any heat for their respective acts.

Is he a great coach? Not now. I think he really has to look deep into the program and change some things, strength and conditioning, practice habits, and recruiting just to name a few. From what I saw, Nebraska was the better football team, Iowa was the better COACHED team Friday.

Wow

No. I know what real football looks like.

Apparently you don't have a clue what real football looks like if you think Nebraska was the better team. Your Huskers got physically manhandled. I usually respect most of your posts, but the crap you are spewing in this thread is making me second guess myself.

Kellog got the ever loving sh1t beat out of him by Iowa. The guy could barely get up off the turf after each hit. Abdullah left the field slowly how many different times? The physical beating that the Iowa D put on Nebraska's O was something to see, seems like you maybe missed part of the game. These weren't plays like an injured leg, rolled ankle, they were just big hits that hurt like a muther****er.

I guess we'll agree to disagree. I can't refute any of the stats you brought up, I'm just using the eyeball test. Iowa had the short field numerous times, due mostly to special teams brainfarts and turnovers. All of Iowa's TD drives started in Nebraska territory. Yet, with about 10 minutes to go in the game, we were down 7 and driving when Ameer fumbled and all but iced the game.

I'll agree with you, if Iowa was the superior team, they should have beat us by more than 24.

Imagine that. A nebby fan thinks they are better from the "eyeball test". While I agree the field position played a huge part in the game, and the fake punt was a massively bad and desperate call, 2 of the turnovers were pure Takeaways, not gimmees, and the 3rd was a linebacker who bated the throw in disguise.

I don't know if Iowa wins 10 out of 10 games if played, heck I'll even agree that nebby's skill players trump Iowa's, but a 21 point victory at your place, comparison of results/stats against common opponents, makes it pretty clear who the better team was. BTW, IMO, if Armstrong is healthy and plays the game, it could have been worse, not better(again, IMO, while he's solid, he's not the next Frazier, Frost, Crouch, or Martinez...and you will have to rely much more on Abdullah...(I know he's a rs frosh, but he is limited). I am married to a nebby fan and live in Omaha, so I watch every nebby game and unfortunately by location have a very good knowledge of the team.

Iowa may have been a couple fortunate plays away from having a 7 win season(or 9 wins depending on your viewpoint)...nebby is a few plays away from a 6 win season(I would argue they ended with the Best record they could have. All this with Iowa having the clearly more difficult schedule, especially in conference. If you play Wisc and OSU vs. Illinois and Purdue, you are a miracle hail mary away from the team staying home for the Holidays.

All this said, I don't believe Iowa is or will be a vastly superior team going forward. But to say we weren't the better team by the numbers, stats, score, or "eyeball" test...is...well...wrong.

See ya Iowa City next year.

We are, for the moment, your formidable Rival.... accept it.

Watching Nebraska lose to Minny then watching them play Northwestern and Michigan told me that Iowa was going to have a great chance to beat them. The did beat them, not by a field goal but by 21 points. Iowa is the better team this year. Tough to swallow but its true.

IMO nebby stubbed their toe big time with the fake. After all the meltdowns we've had over fakes and it just so happens they try it and fail miserably! I do believe that was a huge lift and got that off our back. I know that I was super excited. One other thing. I keep hearing how the players like bo. I believe they should respect him him instead. Maybe bo is just one of the guys instead of a coach?
oh one more thing. At least when we run a flee flicker it's a td or for 50 -60 yards not a 20 yard pass!

I think the average Nebraska fans views their program as greater than Iowa's. They never played Iowa during Iowa's good years. Always when we're down. That simply reinforrces the attitude. Funny thing is that Wisconsin, MSU, UM all have a lot more respect for Iowa than Nebraska does. Why? Because Iowa earned it over the last 30 years. Strange but I think it's true.

I'm right there with you. Usually hunter is a pretty good poster over here, but to say Nebraska was a better team when they lost by 21 at home is just insane. The turnovers weren't because Nebraska gave them to Iowa (maybe the first INT) but the pick by Morris was a better catch then any of the WR's made on either team all day and the fumble happened because Ameer got crunched by the LB's making a play, he didn't just drop the ball. If he can't see that and realize THE BETTER TEAM MADE THE PLAYS to create the short fields then there is no hope to convince him otherwise.

Not to mention Nebraska had a guy go down about every other play as well. That is physical domination when another team is beating up on someone. I honestly don't know how Kellogg even finished that game.

I think hunter is also forgetting Iowa left at least another 7 points on the field. KMM dropped a TD and Iowa got a FG, then after the first INT Iowa went for it on 4th down and got stopped instead of kicking a FG. Those 7 points make this a 45-17 game. But yet he would probably still say Nebraska was the better team.

Yup. His credibility just fell off a cliff as far as I'm concerned.

I do have 20/10 eyesight, but maybe either I am looking at the game with a bias, or I was in a dilusional state that day.

Weirder things have happened.
