I had an Interesting Conversation About Tucker Last Night!

I attended a wake of one of my HS classmates. It was kind a little class reunion in a way since many came from all over. Anyway, we were chillin' afterwards & catching up at the local pub. One of my classmates is from Minneapolis & I brought up the Tucker situation & asked if he thought he may transfer to Minny to be close to home.

My classmate is a baller & probably plays around the rec centers around Minneapolis area. He stated he knew a guy that knows or knew AT pretty well & pretty much stated that Tucker is a mess - paraphrasing. Pretty much is a bad seed & problematic. He didn't elaborate too much into specifics so not sure if was referring more to alcohol issues or just the way he acts in general with attitude. I pretty much left the conversation with the impression that Tucker has even bigger issues than what we even know about through the press. Just thought some might find interesting.

I will be shocked if Tubby has any interest in Tucker.

Yea, I think the same thing. If Tucker was in the running for Mr. Basketball & Tubby was not able to solidy a committment or chose not to, that tells you something. Something is wrong. It's odd he got out of Minny in the first place & there is a reason. This is at least what I think.

If that's the case, it makes Lickliter's handling of the situation make even more sense. Hopefully he can get life figured out.

Hey, if you want to find out about Anthony Tucker go nosing around the MinnesotaPreps board on Rivals. You'll find out plenty about him on there. From what I've gathered from convos over there is that his problems started long before he got to Iowa.

And some on this board said Lickliter only recruited "quality players" and was doing the Iowa program the right way. Guess he missed on that one huh?

Tucker had a well publicized suspension or two when he was in HS. From the sounds of it at the time he had maturity issues, but had put those in the past. Minnesota had an offer out to him when Monson was there, but for whatever reason(s) Smith pulled the offer.

If Lickliter gets fired are you going follow him to his next job so you have something to b!tch about? Or would his firing cure everything wrong with your world and allow you to die a happy man almost instantly upon it happening?

Haha good stuff Shane! +1 here....

Lets see a friend of a friend who plays rec ball said.. blah blah blah.. Lets stick to facts..

Well obviously, Sparky, it supports his actions in Iowa City. That's all I'm saying. The guy played with Tucker & I know my classmate is legit, so screw you. I don't need to you confirm it. Do like everyone else & take it for what it's worth. We will never completely know the facts. Do like others & don't bother responding if not something you believe in. Hey, thanks for taking the time to respond.

He didn't say that he plays rec ball, he said that he PROBABLY plays rec ball around the Minneapolis area...so...that's better.;)

Yea, I know he plays ball with the guy & presume through some rec center. Next time I'll jot down all the specifics for those who can't put 2+2 together.

Considering Tucker's less than 2 year debacle in Iowa City, there is nothing that MelroseHawk's friend said here that should surprise ANYONE.
Tucker has been given more than his share of 'benefit of the doubt'.

Thanks. I am kind of a dullard, so if you could, next time post a video of the conversation along with a full resume' (including home phone) for all parties involved. Appreciate it.:D
This has gotten kind of weird here. Now, we can't even talk about conversations regarding relatively small subjects without people calling you out for "fourth cousin of my high school math teachers ex-girlfriends hair dresser" references. I think most of us would be much more surprised to hear that he had his act together before going to Iowa City.
Peace!

Agreed. Thanks. I wasn't breaking any news that wasn't already known by most. I guess my point with the post is that it sounds as if Tucker, unfortunately, had many of his issues prior to landing on campus proving that he wasn't just going thru shell-shock adjusting to college life, since this guy knew him prior to him coming to IC.

I do wish Tucker luck, especially in life. I do hate so see young men & women on the wrong track. Some day my two boys are going to be that age, & that scares the beegeebes out of me.

We have to remember these are are message boards for entertainment, & often times, our entertainment is at the expense of 18-19 yr olds who are trying to adjust to life. This really can put it into perspective.

All I can say is that I am glad my life wasn't put under a microscope for 1000's of bloggers. They may have had a few threads on me as well. Nobody's perfect.

Peace to you to, my friend.
