I don't see how we get 6 wins

I'm fairly confident we can beat Illinois but from jNWU through Wisky I see 4 pretty severe butt kickings.

Can we muster the guts to get up and beat Purdue and Nebby back to back?

I just don't see it, not with this offense.
 


i'm on the fence w/PU cuz they're offense is now an aggressive one. kNU depends on what the last game of the season means to them, but it's on the road so, right now, i'll say loss to kNU.
 








As long as I don't have to feel bad for Iowa band members and cheerleaders being forced to be in Detroit over Christmas, either way is fine. I will say that if Iowa loses one more game, it'll be time to prioritize playing the freshmen and young players.
 


It's all part of the plan...

Hawks look pathetic leading up to a home game against a highly rated opponent, that opponent comes in completely flat and plays a half-assed game / gameplan, and voila- a big win. Season saved! What a great coach! Ohio State this year...
 


We're just as good of a football team as anybody else on the schedule other than Wiscy and OSU. Granted we will have to win some road games. I say 7-5 likely.

Usually with ya. But not with the offense we have seen 6.5 of the last 8 quarters. We will get outscored by teams that have weaker defenses but better offenses(MSU does not have a good offense). The defense isn't gonna keep teams under 17 every game.

We beat Minny if we play well. I think Maryland was playing their 3rd string QB yesterday. yes Maryland has better athletes on offense except maybe Wadley but we are using Wadley wrong anyway.

All our opponents are taking Wadley's running game out of the equation so we are wasting him and a lot of plays. Put him in the slot or split out wide, when he is in the back field use him in playaction as a decoy or throw it to him after he clears the LOS. This team needs to become a straight ahead smash mouth running team and throw the ball a lot.

We don't have the receivers, or the qb to be a primarily passing team. Our talent at receiver is severely lacking, as far as Stanley goes, pressure him at all and he pretty much falls apart. Even without pressure his accuracy is bad over 10 yards, and he simply cannot throw a deep ball. Teams have no problem playing man coverage on our receivers and stuffing the run.
 


Started out with a prediction of 9-3, I will temper that with 7-5 now. They will get 7 wins and get worked in a bowl game.

That being said MSU isn't a great football team. We may have even overvalued that win over ISU. Iowa State could very well be a 3 or 4 win team.

I can see Illinois. MN and PU are 50/50 games; but at home, so should be w's. That's 6. I don't see Iowa winning @jNW, @WUs, @kNU or OSU. Which of these 4 do you see us beating? jNW and kNU are beatable, but on the road, I'm not ready to call one.
 


So far this year Iowa is ranked 102nd in total offense. In 5 years under Davis, Iowa was ranked 92nd for an average. The numbers should improve next week, knock on wood.

I hope but Stanley and the WRs can't make anyone pay for loading the box. Will anyone be shocked if we run into 9 man boxes all day and lose 10-7? I won't

Iowa media folks and several Iowa fans will tell you it's simply about players executing the plays. Let's don't be hatin on Brian or Kirk, let's hate on the players. #TheIowaWay

Illinois, Purdue, Minnesota,and Nebraska
