I don't see how we get 6 wins

Illinois, Purdue, Minnesota,and Nebraska

Those teams blow and probably should only account for a combined total of 3 wins (assuming we even win). Remember the days when we used to compete with, and occasionally beat, teams like FL and LSU? We get absolutely destroyed now when we play teams of that caliber.

Nothing has changed since before MSU except Iowa now has a loss to MSU. Before MSU, I was thinking 9-3 or 8-4. Now I am thinking 8-4 or 7-5.

Iowa will probably beat ILL, NW, Minn, purdue and Neb. Iowa will probably lose to Wisc and OSU.

I wouldn't be so sure about Purdue or NW. Or Minny for that matter. The rower might turn that game into their superbowl after BF's comments.

You know what will happen they will probably steal one between OSU/Wisconsin and lose one against ill/Purdue/Minnesota.

Nebby could be a pile of stinking crap by late Nov.

While I pray this is true, they currently have a better offense than us when they don't throw pick 6s. They handily beat Illinois at their house, let's see how we compare.

It bothers me to say say that.

This season reminds me of 2013. New QB. Offense that is trying lots of new things. Early loss to MSU team that was supposed to be down.

Stanley reminds me of Rudock, except Stanley is taller, has a stronger arm, and Stanley fumbles more.

Not nearly enough new things though. Gameplans are not matching the personnel.

I, for one, am excited about our prospects this season! I've only ever dreamed of going to Detroit!

...and yes, I know the scene from the movie is East St. Louis.

I have the solution for how to fix this team!

Watching halftime highlights / scores during Rams vs Cowboys, it hit me.

We need to play the Browns! An infallible "cure for what ails ya".

Illinois, Purdue, Minnesota,and Nebraska
You get six, seven, or even eight wins by scheduling three patsies in the preseason. If the head coach is average, it doesn't really matter who the head coach or offensive coordinator are. You can have an average coach and a below average offensive coordinator and still get six, seven, or eight wins.

No we are not. Especially on the offensive side of the ball.

Who's better than us other than Wiscy and OSU??

Enlighten me who has played great every week?
The Nebraska team that got beat to Northern Ill?
The Northwestern team that got whipped by Duke?
Minnesota lost to Maryland at home.
ILL is trash.
Purdue looks improved but they've yet to win a Big Ten game so I'm far from sold.

And I think we'll compete against a Wiscy.

Granted some of these games are on the road making it more difficult but it's not like we won't win our fair share of games.

Frustrating that the offense always seems to be the weak link holding us back but I hate to see people so harshly rip on Iowa after 2 losses to 2 respectable programs.

I hope you're correct, but I will wait to disparage Illinois until we handily beat them. To date we haven't handily beat anyone. Only a few are being harsh on the players, most are harsh on the OC, and given the offensive production...there is merit to do so.

We're better than IL... I guess my point is just because we lost to a top 5 team in the country and on the road to a team that won the Big Ten Championship only 2 years ago doesn't put us on the same level as these IL, Purdue, Minn teams and that's how we can still win 7 games easily.
