I don't know if I like the new TV format

It's nice that the games are all on TV, but it sucks that it doesn't flash over when an upset is about to happen.

I'm watching a close Kentucky/Princeton game, and they update the Louisville score only after it is final.

There are scores on top of the screen of the games going on. You can decide when you want to switch over instead of cbs deciding. It's better, IMO.

I realized I sounded like a whiner as soon as I posted it. The new format is a good thing, but I would like for them to warn the view when upsets are about to happen.

They do. It's called watching the scores and time remaining at the top of the screen.

Or you can do what I do, and turn to the game with the least amount of time left (if it is under 10 point game) and watch the end, then switch to the game that will end next, etc.

I did this for the early games, so I saw Butler, then switched to Morehead St, then switched to Temple. Now watching Kentucky.

I don't give a crap about any one team, so this works for me. May not work for you.

I miss the old format. Switching to the closing minutes was a nice thing to have...even though we ca now watch whatever game we want. They haven't been showing many highlights at all from other games and I missed Louisville's last shot because I switched to the PSU game during their timeout and the PSU game was at commercial and I forgot I had switched! My fault yes...but they could still cross over the broadcast for the end of games.

This just proves that people will complain about anything. Imagine if the Hawks were playing (I know, it's been awhile), and they switched away for the last two minutes of a game you really don't care about.

Then you would complain about that. The new format gives everyone no reason to complain. Or so I thought.

I of course have been at work today, so I have not been watching any games, but if it is true that they will now not switch over to a different game while the one I am already watching is still in progress, then this is the single greatest advance in basketball telecasting history.

The ONLY complaint I can understand is TruTV. I'd never heard of it, and wasn't aware that we had it until yesterday. I'm sure there are plenty of viewers across the country that don't have it. But TBS/TNT are pretty standard for the vast majority of viewers.

So you're complaining about people complaining?

espn has a channel that works like goaline for football in the fall, floats around to all the games. provided its available with your cable and in your area. i like the new format but this could be a sufficient alternative for ya

It's fine and thanks to DTV, Tru is now in HD so I'm covered. I would like to see a March Madness "Red Zone" channel that would switch you to games that matter.

This new format is awesome just for the fact that we can still watch basketball now instead of Oprah and the news!!

Just leave the computer open on ESPN, it shows the scores updating in real time so you can switch.

People used to pay 100+ bucks a year to have the ability to watch any game they wanted. Now it's free. This is completely awesome.

It's beyond awesome. There's no words in the English language to describe how great this is. :)

It is the single biggest advancement in this event since they started to televise the event. All my frustrations over the years with missing Iowa games in this event due to some CBS hack in NYC running the remote are finally resolved. For years I have been screaming at those jerks who did not value Iowa bb like they should.

It is like finally have control of your own destiny in terms of event enjoyment. Sweettttt!!!
