I could foresee THIS playing out..

No, but western Michigan could beat us. Their coach is a young exuberant maniac who will have them believing and competing. Could the ferentz MAC home losing streak go to 3? Would we finish .500 in the MAC? Probably not, and I bet ferentz makes more than all of the MAC coaches combined.

Kurt has lost to 3 MAC teams at Kinnick.

Two of them were crappy.

Hope you are right.

I have it in my mind that this team can hang some points on ISU. Don't think this D can be counted on to win any games this year.

I was really pleased with the way the D played on Saturday. Yes there were a few breakdowns, but everyone seems to forget the D played lights out in the 3rd quarter...only to lose the quarter 3-0 because of horrendous play calling on offense and another fake punt.

If KF and staff had a clue we win going away...also if Lowery doesn't start cramping in the 4th we might have been alright anyway.

After watching Michigan State, Minnesota I think Iowa is ahead of them. MSU is a total mess on offense. They won 26-13 against the Western Michigan. The difference was two defensive scores. They also had nearly 300 yards punting.
Minnesota's QB Nelson threw 10/22 in their victory. He ran effectively but is an inaccurate passer. He is no Jordan Lynch in either running or passing. Their opponent UNLV has now lost 23 strait road games.

Nebraska has defensive problems. They held on to win by 3. Their defense giving up 34 points and over 600 yards. Against Wyoming. Offensively they scored 37 points. Not bad but Wyoming isn't the B1G.

These teams looked bad in their openers but they won. I think Nebraska will get their problems sorted out by the time Iowa travels to Lincoln. But I think it will be a much more competitive game than previously thought. Minnesota and Michigan State should still be wins. A lot depends how the Hawks respond to this loss. If they come out with a chip on their shoulders then we have a team. If they continue to struggle, it will be a long year.

Since Hawkeye football is about the only thing I have to look forward to, I'm forced to think optimistically.

I found this for you from Depression Meditation - Project Meditation

1. First, you will need a focal object. Some use a simple raisin.

2. Hold the raisin in your hand and focus only on that single raisin, concentrate on how it looks, what it smells like, does it make any sounds? Move it in your hand. Continue focusing only on the raisin. If your mind wanders, return it to the raisin.

3. Take the raisin into your mouth, don’t chew it. Leave it in your mouth and concentrate on what it does or feels like in your mouth.

Practice focusing your mind. And remember, depression meditation is the practice of doing things and noticing that you’re doing them.

I admire you kool-aid drinkers, I really do. I wish I could look at the season through your Hawkeye colored glasses and envision a winning season. I'm still seeing a 3-9 season after Saturday's game. I really hope I'm wrong and they do better than that, I just can't see it.

If Iowa loses any of their next three games, the entire coaching staff should do the honorable thing and commit Harakiri at the 50 yard line. :) The next three opponents are terrible.
