after a loss. Even though Iowa losses always hurt, and I think constructive criticism is fair and essential, I usually am able to also see what the Hawks did right and find some positives.
I am still very positive about Iowa's future and am 100% behind Kirk Ferentz, but this loss, and the fact that lowly Northwestern DOMINATES us, is absolutely and completely inexcusable.
There is NO LOGICAL REASON why NW should have won 5 of the last 6 from us.
This season is officially and irreparably a major disappointment. Even if we beat Ohio State, Minnesota and whomever we play in our bowl game, the expectations were for much more.
It can still be a good season, especially in comparison to Iowa's total history. If we win the next three games, we will have a lot of positives heading into the next season and the off-season will be a bit less bitter, but the vast majority of Hawk fans will always remember 2010 for what could've been.
Kirk, you MUST figure out what it is about NW (and Indiana) that is so hard for you to figure out that most other teams can. Wisconsin (almost a carbon copy of Iowa) just put 83 points on Indiana. We got 18. NW has not been a great team over the last 6 years in the slightest. They beat you 5 of those years. You are still a great coach and I want you here for another 12 years or more, but FIX IT! Just FIX IT!
