I am Screwed

So with a 1st shift employee recently quitting at my workplace the supervisor is making the 2nd shifters (me) work weekends 6am-2:30pm every other weekend. We'll I had this weekend off and not thinking about it until yesterday, I am going to miss the Hawks first game of the season. Worst part is, I don't have a DVR and I don't know where I can actually watch the full game when I get back home. I'm guessing ESPN3.com won't have it since its on the B1G network and I don't see a feature on their website to watch the whole game after its been aired. And I really would love to see more than the 1:13 video of the highlights ESPN has. Also, I will be receiving text updates but that won't do it for me as I'd like to see the game after work. I do have some radio access throughout the day but the "hawk" fans don't really give a cr#p about the game and probably won't let me change the station from kix101.1 So if anyone can tell me where I can watch the game online after its been aired would be awesome. Thanks Guys

The Big Ten network shows that the Iowa Tenn Tech game will be replayed in its entirety at 7:30 pm Saturday night. Check it out to confirm and then watch it then

Actually the replay is at 7:30 pm Eastern time, which means it shows at 6:30 pm Central time here on the Big Ten network on Saturday. If you have the Big Ten network on your TV, you are in business at 6:30 pm.

If you are a BTN subscriber then BTN2Go will have it online. Details are still being worked out. But the BTN swears it will be ready by the first games.

Supposedly BTN2GO.com will allow full game replays, but since they haven't actually launched that site yet, I'm not sure if that will actually be the case or not.

Well thats good to hear but Ill be missing some of big games (LSU vs Oregon, Boise St vs Georgia) I really need to call up Mediacom and update!

Seems like if you wouldn't have to pay for tickets+ for the game, you should investigate the cost of DVR. It's many moons past the VCR. I guarantee, it's almost suddenly like you've got a second life. I don't know how I enjoyed life without it!

If you really wanted to see the game you wouldn't care about missing these other games even though they will be better then Iowa/Tenn Tech.

Also get a DVR, it is less than $10 a month for one.

I agree with the others to get a DVR. For a long time I thought "I don't need to encourage myself to watch more television." But I honestly feel I watch less television now, as I have stuff on the DVR awaiting me, and I can fast forward through commercials.

The current BTN2GO FAQ doesn't list Mediacom as a provider, so if you are Mediacom you may not be able to access.

What happens when your DVR fills up? Hmmmmmmmm?
Mine got full of Hawkeye games and I couldn't get them off and then the cat knocked on the floor and poof they were gone!

And then I asked HN members if they could share copies of their recorded games and you know what happened? Hmmmmm? Nothin' except crap about dogs being better than cats. That's it.

I let my DVR fill up and lost the entire 2008 season. My wall had a fist sized hole in it shortly thereafter. I bandaged my hand and immediately went to Best Buy and bought an external hard drive. Most DVR units have a USB port and you can download the games directly into the hard drive I've got all the games from the past two seasons, and still have room for approximately 8 more seasons. IMO this is a better option than even burning them to DVD's. You can get an external hard drive for as little as $80-$90. I bought a 1 terabyte hard drive and spent about $180 but it's a small price to pay for 10 years of Hawkeye football.

I tried doing that with ours. The cable company outsmarted us though. The USB wasn't active so you couldn't download.

The BTN will replay it several times, or if you have a decent Internet connection, just download the torrent and watch it at your leisure.

You really have to try to miss a football game broadcast nowadays.

You can't rely on torrents being there for you. I looked into this several times last season and game selection was spotty at best.

As for hard drives, the are vastly cheaper now. You can get a 1 TB external hard drive for under $75. That'll hold a lot of football.

Anyone have advice on how to watch the game if you don't have Big Ten Network (for watching after it airs)?

I have the same problem. I work 8p-4a every Saturday. So I'll be asleep during the 11oclock games, miss the fourth quarter of 2.30 games driving into work, and completely miss night games....Luckily I have a DVR though..

I'll have to check to see if I can download DVR's to a hard drive and then DVD.. What's the program you can get for Mac that allows you to edit video?

you haven't looked very hard.

it has been before '09 the last time an iowa football torrent wasn't readily available.

methinks your just not very good at looking.

I got a DVD recorder & dubbed them onto DVD's from the DVR.
