Can you believe this coaching staff, No CJ, No deep throws, 10 drives netting a whopping 106 yards, yet no CJ, I am sorry but I cant take it anymore! No more, I just cant take it, I will die from a heart attack because my blood pressure and yelling at the TV. Also when they rush three and drop 8 why not run a half back draw or something or a shovel pass. I just don't understand it.

I had to DVR the second half and step outside after watching us start quick ... And just as quickly... Flush the game away. It is tough to watch this team. I understand the OP... It's hard to take and I realized my stress level was up about 5 notches ... Jake throws more than 50 times again... Please, please let this be the end of the Davis experiment.

You don't remember the days we were really bad. Get over it.

I'm half tempted to vote you down... But I promised I never would issue a thumbs down..

don't tell anyone that they don't have a right to be upset. Just because you're not comprehending why we're losing... Others are, and they are, in my opinion, 100% justified in that opinion.

kirk should not travel back to this state with a job.

what ever do you mean good sir, I remember a 1 win season and a 3 win season in say 98 99 and 2000. Why Johnny you look like a ghost just walked over your grave. I can handle losing to better teams or even a to Iowa State from time to time, but a 9-7 record against ISU and a loss because of coaching and no adjustments are unacceptable in my opinion. Iowa has top class facilities, and can afford to pay a coach 5 mill a year or more if need be. That means we could get someone in here who can game day coach and win games, beat ISU and go to a mid to upper tier bowl game.

The only resolution is to give this offense to another coordinator. Except, I don't see Iowa making any more comebacks as long as Ferentz is the coach. Don't get me wrong, he is a great guy, he is incredible at developing talent, and has had some great seasons for the Hawks. But the bloom is off the rose. Let's face it, Iowa's defense has been exposed over the last two games and Iowa just doesn't win games, much less compete, when they don't have any defense. I see one, maybe two wins left on this soft schedule.

If you're talking about the pre-Hayden years, man, let it go. That was how many generations ago? Yes, we all know Iowa sucked like 40-50 years ago. Does that mean we should accept this garbage now?

Amen. I have been a Hawk fan for 35 years. Yeah, I know we had a bad program "back in the day" but guess what, the University of Chicago used to be a football powerhouse back in the day. My point... THINGS CHANGE!

I have never understood how some think the fact that Iowa sucked 40 years ago is relevant to today.

Iowa is in a downward spiral. If you are OK with that because they also couldn't win in 1976, then good for you.

I posted before i read this. Good on you.

Yes. The people that know Iowa sucked 40-50 years ago are the large donors in the prime years of making, living off of and doling out money. Give it another 15 years before those arguments disappear.

Only 1/2 sarcastic. The other 1/2 is true.

I will admit that I am one that keeps coming back every week they play. Only because I love the Hawkeyes as a program. I too have been a fan for at least 38 years (remembering). Do i like Kirk and the state of the program? The answer, probably not, but I am going to support the Hawks. All because I have done so all my life. I am upset writing this, but I will get over it and hope for the best in 2 weeks.

Hey, don't you know that we're just Iowa.
There's no reason to think we should expect more from our football program. Don't you all remember we were really bad once?

I think that if everybody who feels like the program needs a change would just learn to accept mediocrity they'd be much happier with the state of things.

Yeah, we're all going to keep coming back to watch the Hawks.

In the big picture view, this game wasn't that important. I mean, it would be nice to beat another program the first time you face them. There's that.

Ok, and it would be nice to stay a game ahead in the loss column of Nebby and Wisky.

Oh, and it would have been a good way to carryover the Indiana offensive scheme to another bad defense and get guys more comfortable in a high energy attack game.

Aaand, it would have been a way to get KFGD more comfortable and habit-forming for a high energy attack game.

Still, Iowa controls it's own destiny for winning the west. So that's still out there. But Maryland? Maryland was just a check-down game until the real schedule begins after this bye.

OK I am one of those old donors. Ferentz has done a good job at Iowa, but that was a bitter loss today on so many levels:

1. Numerous dumb penalties.
2. A ridiculous pick six.
3. Unwillingness to play another QB.
4. Key fumble by our star cornerback when we had great field position.
5. Moronic play call on 3rd and 2 when Weisman was rolling. Idiotic.

Just a dumb, stupid bitter loss. Incredible, really.

I'm glad we have a bye next week. This team has a lot of work to do to regroup and this coaching staff has a lot of soul searching to do. This one was on the coaches 100%

I am just flat out tired of seeing guys on the field multiple years on both sides of the ball who do not get the results when it counts. That produces mediocre results.

KMM is a great example with another big drop today. That goes with his drops against Nebby and Wisky as well as a dropped punt against LSU last year. How many big plays does he make against good teams? Very few. Now throw in Lowdermilk. He was majorly involved in 4 of Diggs big play highlights as he was with Indiana. He lacks the speed to play in the secondary. There are others at QB, LB and the O-line.

Play the best 22 and make the emphasis on constant competition at all positions with the final evaluation being what you do on game days!
