It's hard not to be optimistic when we just shattered that 7 game losing streak. Get the monkey off the back and then get going. 3-1 non-con, 4-4 in the B1G, win a bowl game and we are back on track and setting up nicely for another good run in 2014 when the schedule gets really soft.

Soft, who you kidding mister we play in the Big. If that powerhouse team of mid shipman doesn't sneak one out against Indiana the BIG is undefeated yesterday against some staunch competition. Nothing is soft when you play in the BIG. Screw the SEC. BULLIES of the BIG.

Pardon me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember that "signature phrase" being used a lot before last year.

Also, "a lot of us feel the same way" ??? Please just speak for yourself. I don't share the same sentiment. And I would say a lot of us feel the same way as me. ;-)

Ok, you gave three reasons why you remain a pro kf guy. And I agree most of the hawk fans are with you on this.

You also mentioned the players and coaches want to win. I don't think anybody ever doubted that. I know I don't doubt that.

But how on earth do you think that things are gonna get better with kf as head coach when you have seen so many bad things in the past three plus years?

KF parlayed those 4 top 10 finishes into 2 new contracts, the last one being $4 mil per. He doesn't get goodwill. He's already been compensated. He is also 20-20 since he signed his $4 mil per contract. That's just awesome!
 
Weisman is one of the top backs in the nation. We have a freshman WR that reminds me a lot of Wes Welker. Things will get better. Kirk deserves a little patience.

You forgot the word currently. Weisman is "currently" one of the top backs in the nation. That is until they play a real defense.

He deserves a little patience after a 4-8 season? Doesn't matter how much patience you give him this year. There is hope for 2014 though. He'll win just enough games in 14 to get himself off the hook. I would say 7.

It's tough to recruit to Iowa and we've had some bad luck. Bad coaches don't win Orange Bowls against really good teams.
 
Apparently you are convinced that if we hire a new coach and pay $5m annually that we somehow are going 10-2 every year. Won't happen.

Are you convinced that our current $3.65 million coach will go 10-2 again? I sure ain't. In fact, I'm pretty sure he'll never win 9 again in a season.

and how does Northwestern do it then? They spread the field with as many receivers as possible. You know we were only down 28-3 at one point in last years game.
