I am just beyond disappointed

It's tough to recruit to Iowa and we've had some bad luck. Bad coaches don't win Orange Bowls against really good teams.

Wow this is utter desperation to believe in Kurt Ferret. I know this isn't a great point per say but if Ron ******* Zook can take Illinois to the Rose Bowl, any average coach can beat a good team in the Orange bowl.

Yeah, and 4 top ten finishes!! And we couldn't get anybody better. (And man, shhhhh.............don't tell anybody but he's 20-20 since the big contract, and has a losing big ten record. Don't tell nobody though, k?)

I know that saturdays game was a win but it was also hard to watch. The last couple of yrs the recuriting has been way down and now it is really starting to show. I don't know how they recruit but something isn't right there. It really shows that we just don't have no team speed. I personally think it is time for a change at the helm and go ahead and get somebody in here because no matter if we get a new coach or stay with KF I think its going to be a long season. We really need to start on our 2014 recuriting class maybe a breath of fresh air is what the program needs. I just hope they do something soon. What does everybody else think?

What I don't get is why you Ferentz haters can't just accept the fact that there are a lot of fans out there that still support our team and their coach. I'll bet there is even more than you realize, but they are afraid to post because of the reaction they will get from you. As soon as someone posts they're behind Ferentz they have to deal with 20 negative ones calling them out, trying to change their minds or even calling them names. We deal with your negativity on a daily basis so maybe it's time you just need to accept the fact that you all aren't changing our minds and move on! If watching the Hawks made me as miserable as it seems to make all of you, I sure wouldn't be doing it!

Most on here are kf backers. A minority of us have wanted kf gone for a while now as we realize nothing will get significantly better until he's out. But that won't happen. His buyout is too big now and no matter how bad this season is, he's coming back for 2014, where he will win around 7 games. That will be enough for most hawk fans and then the cycle starts over again.

Bottom Line: He ain't going no where.

If you've read any of my posts you'd know I agree with you. Most fans still back kf.

Don't get me wrong I like coach ferentz but we can't keep playin the way we have. I'm from TN and I'm also a vols fan and I liked coach Fulmer but the last couple of yrs he was here he just wouldn't getting the job done. And they let him go with a big buyout. I really do hope KF turns it around and I have to eat my words but I really do think it might be time for a change. GO HAWKEYES

Curious, why do you like the hawks since you are a confederate?:D

Because we have the football version of Todd Lickliter as a coach. He does not care what anybody thinks, he is going to do things his way with complete disregard for what's best for the program. Ferentz is the CEO of Iowa football and is responsible for hiring and firing non performing middle management (assistants). His hire for life union mentality has set this program back to the stone age. If you think Parker or Davis would have these positions at any other high D -1 program, you are kidding yourself. The team will rack up meaningless rushing yards all season that will not translate to points and the defense isn't capable of getting any pressure up front with 4 guys, which will leave opposing QB's lots of time to exploit our coverage issues. Had Parker blitzed as much against NIU as he did MSU, we likely would have won.

When I was a kid my first game I can remember watching was the hawkeyes. And ever since I have always been a Iowa fan. I'm hoping next year I can get time to come up and watch a game. Whats it like in Kinnick stadium? I know in Neyland stadium you can't even hear yourself think. I would also like to check out yhe Hawk walk. GO HAWKS

I was also dissapointed with the Iowa performance. I was not impressed with the O-line and Damon Bullock in particular. We should have mauled their d-line and it gives me some concern for the ISU game. Bullock just didn't seem to have the attacking killer instinct. He was just a touch off and I do expect him to bounce back. I was impressed with Leshun Daniels. I'd also like to see Damon Powell on the field more. He didn't have a very good game but he has talent that has not been at the receiver a lot for Iowa in the past. Another thing I'm tired of is the KF don't let the team get to high or to low during the season. I'd like to see the team come out of the tunnel super pumped. When I was in high school back in the old days our coach started pumping us up on Tuesday and by Friday night it just came pouring out. We went 31-1 and I know that's not the only reason we were good but it didn't hurt. We expected to win by 50 every game and the games were usually routs. One year we only gave up 15 points for the year because we had it drilled into us constantly. By the way, my talents had very little to do with our record.

I get it...how do you explain NIU talent comparable to ours? No excuse to have MAC talent on this team.

We have better talent all over the field that NIU. They have a great dual threat QB, and we don't. In college football the QB is always the great equalizer. It isn't like Lynch was a 4* recruit, he was a 2* that is playing like a 5*. That happens, some kids slip through the cracks, or just figure it out, or develop later.

When Lynch played like a 2* or 3* kid (last year in Chicago), a terrible Iowa team (the worst Iowa team in 10+ years) beat them. Fast forward to when Lynch is playing like a 5*, and NIU manages to squeeze one out at Kinnick (against a much better Iowa team). If Lynch plays like last year, we win this thing going away.

Mark this date down. Two things are happening today. 1) It will be the farthest into September that we hit 100 on record and 2) I agree with something dean says.

I don't think Bullock is the back now or for the future. The back they are very, very high on is Daniels and I think for very good reason. He's by far the most talented back they got, and I think that's why they didn't red shirt him. I was also ticked off they didn't get the ball to Canzeri more. If Powel and Canzeri are your fastest guys, you GOT to find a way to get it to them a lot.

We actually probably agree on much more than you think. The other thing you need to do is keep your spine, and not hedge your bets on ISU this weekend. If you have thought all along we will win, then stick with it. ;)

Hope you can understand after Saturday why I do have my doubts now.

I actually agree with you as well Freed! Bullock spent way too much time running East and West on Saturday instead of North and South. Which is usually a sign of a RB trying to do too much. That's always incredibly frustrating to watch as a fan. I think they need to keep him out in the slot for certain formations. Other than maybe some fancy plays here and there I don't think they should be trying to get him any more carries. Give his reps to Daniels and Canzeri.

I always have doubts about the ISU game each year, as 9 years out of 10 we have the better players. That has not lead to wins, especially at Ames. I do know what you are saying, but you have known this for years, and you have been saying something else for months now. Why all of a sudden the change? The facts are all the same as they have been for months now.
