I am disappointed in the Lick-Loveys

How much better do coaches look when they are able to recruit JaJuan Johnson, Robbie Hummel and Etwan Moore.... must be nice. I think Lick & Crean would both be sniffing the NIT or better with those 3.

Don't kid yourself,,,, talent does not win all games but it sure helps.

So what you are saying is that you like a coach(Crean) who cannot beat a coach(Lick) that you bash relentlessly on this board each and every day. Yeah.....I get your logic???

Lick is able to recruit players like Hummel and Moore...he just doesn't.

Are you seriously making the argument that it is unfair to compare Lick to Painter because Lick doesn't have as good of players?
 
Painter's first year @ Purdue in 2005-2006,,, decimated by injuries, etc. his record was 9 - 19. Why was it not better if his coaching acumen makes the difference ?
 
I'm just saying I think the Crean act wears thin pretty quickly, whether you're a player, a fan or an opponent. And for the life of me I can' figure out how he doesn't get T'd up for being outside of the coaching box so often. That's not accidental. It's for a reason, and Big 10 officials need to call him on it.

You said that Indiana was more talented and then in the same sentance said (truthfully) that Iowa has waxed them by 15 twice this year.

If Lickliter is a bad coach (not saying you've said that, but that's a popular opinion here) how is it possible that his less talented Iowa squad beat the daylights out of Indiana twice?

Iowa is way more talented than Indiana. Indiana is turrible. Talking to a few people at the game the general feeling was that Indiana might be the worst big ten team to ever play at Carver

I was happy that the Hawkeyes won the game but I will also adimit that I think its hilarious as hell when some of you guys rush the board to rub our noses in the fact that we won. I want Lick gone right now and I don't hide it but why would it **** me off if the Hawkeyes win? I want the Hawkeyes to win just as much as anyone else I just don't think Lickliter is the one to do it.

Then you haven't read much on the board after this game have you? As a matter of fact, wasn't this thread started by a member of HaterNation wondering why the Lick-Loveys weren't saying more about the win. Our reaction or lack of is a far cry from what happens after an Iowa loss on this board. Hell, even after a win, most antagonists find a reason to rip on Lick and the team.
 
I don't think Iowa has better talent right now than Indiana. I do think we have better coaching and a coach who gets his players to play closer to their potential, and more like a TEAM.
 
I would say the difference in Iowa and IU is the extra year Fuller and two years Cole have had in the weight room. IU's frosh big men Watford and Elston are like fuller last year...not strong enough. Pritchard is not as strong as Cole...

If Watford and Elston add the muscle that Fuller did...IU will be better...and of course Creek has to come back healthy also. What I think we see now is that frosh guards usually need experience running a team,and frosh big men need strength...unless they are top 25-30 type recruits.

Indiana has 1 decent player (Jones) on their team. The rest of their team wouldnt even start for Iowa. They are so bad

I am downright shocked that nobody has posted anything like that. For the other nine wins, somebody posted it.

I guess those people realize that this win was ugly, and was against a team that is not so equally terrible.

However, I have more hope that IU will turn things around than I have Iowa will.

They actually have a coach on the sidelines with emotion and passion. And, this just in, Tom Crean is a great coach. Period.

10 wins on March 1st.

I don't sense Crean's lunacy on the sidelines translates into his players playing for him.

I am nervous watching him. Makes me uneasy. I have a hard time believing 18-20 year old kids are into that nonsense.

Time and place to show passion and energy.


I feel like his behavior is overcoaching. He really needs to relax.


Funny thing is most people watch that and think that is coaching. Yelling, pacing, being expressive. Blah.

More than one way to skin the cat but I don't see it working for Crean.
