Huskers Hit A New Milestone In Their Journey To Sucktown

I wish this wasn't true, but it is. F that taunting kid, though....and yes, F Nebby.
If he taunts, that means hypothetically losing one’s balance and accidentally rolling up on his knee which, while it’d be a darn shame, would be acceptable.

I'm still trying to figure out how we needed a game ending field goal to beat them. Oh...now I remember...Adrian Martinez...that's how. I'm not sure when he comes out...but that drought ends with this dude. He's the real deal.

Now, I'm still hoping he has a rift with Frost and transfers to keep the streak alive, but that's something between me and God right now.
The correct answer is Kirk Ferentz. Not taking the field goal to go up 3 scores in the 3rd quarter was idiotic. Iowa had all the momentum.

Martinez made some nice plays against some soft coverages to get them back into the game but there was no reason that game should have even been close.

Looking back at the 2015 and 2016 recruiting classes Nebraska had the 4th best class in the B1G in 2015 and 5th best class in 2016 (30th & 26th Nationally) per 247. Iowa was ranked 12th and 9th in the B1G those same years (59th and 47th nationally).

That '16 class is turning into a doozey. Already with 3 early entry draftpicks (Fant, Hockenson, Hooker), and I am going to project the following to have a shot in the NFL (listed from highest recruiting ranking to lowest):

Lattimore (solid chance)
Stanley (good chance)
A. Jackson (nearly guaranteed)
Golston (nearly guaranteed)
Niemann (about the same chance as his brother)
Beyer (solid chance, if Iowa TE history is any indication)
Banwart (similar chance to Reynolds and Render)

I would guess a minimum of 6 NFL draft picks, and probably at least 8 NFL players, from a recruiting class that did not contain a single 4* recruit

Of course to receive my degree I had to settle delinquent U-Bills

"Look, guys, I don't want to tell anyone out there how to feel, but Northside Hawk has some baggage he's bringing with him. The guy has a slew of unpaid parking tickets from college and the scouts I have talked to are really turned off by his character issues. One source I spoke with on campus said he once parked his car 4 inches over a yellow line marking a fire lane and that carried a $50 ticket. So let's keep things in perspective when we are talking about some of the other guys with aggravated assault charges. No one out there has an impeccable record. No one."

If I had ever received a parking ticket, or any other traffic violation, it would have been with someone else's vehicle. I never had my own vehicle the entire time I was in Iowa City. I shared one with my younger sister and she would use it during the school year and I would use it only during the summer or while home for Christmas. Of course the campus was much smaller back then as well. But I remember plenty of people after dinner in the dorms scrambling in the rain or snow to get their vehicles moved to the other side of the street to avoid parking tickets. If you hadn't done it by six in the evening you could be driving clear over by Mercy Hospital to find a spot.

Before we get all full of ourselves, let me remind everyone that if it weren’t for our underclassmen declaring early, we would not have had a single player selected in the draft. Our grad seniors were all unrestricted free agents or are getting tryouts. Instead, we made NFL history by being the first school to have two TE’s selected in the first round. Just think what Nebby and the Clowns would be saying about us if all our underclassmen stayed. Our record for our guys getting selected in the draft would have been busted. Although I don’t care for either schools fan base, let’s not forget that it could have been a lot worse for us. Let’s at least be a little bit humble and thankful. That said, I am really looking forward to stomping their sorry asses again next year! Go Hawks!

C'mon. Your point makes this even more comical. They don't even have an undergrad desired by NFL. Maybe Scotty makes his boys stay the full 4.

Anyone that know me that I have massive disdain for nebby fans, more so than the actual team, who I also loathe. That said, the reality is they were better than their record last year, Improved throughout the season....mostly due to the qb play. They will like be improved overall and I can confirm a lot of effort is being put in to improve oline, dline play. Frost hit the lottery with Martinez.

My over/under for them next year is 8 wins. Without Martinez that drops to about 5. Hes that important for them.

Hawks need to beat them.

Martinez won't make it a full season without injury.

I agree. I can't think of a B1G running QB that hasn't gotten hurt at some point....McSorely maybe?
I thought he got hurt in the Iowa game or came into that game banged up. In any case he went down, missed the rest of the first half and his backup scored a rushing TD.

None of this stopped him from scoring on a long rushing TD of his own in the third quarter, bad knee and all.

We’ll se what Golston and AJE have to say about Martinez rushing.
I think Hesse was responsible for contain in the Penn State game and McSorley got outside for the score.

Perhaps AJE would have contained him, or chased him down. Our defense, in general, looks more athletic than it has in a long time and we have a nice mix of players to carry out all the assignments.

That's the problem with having your qb being responsible for most of your play making ability.
Fact is the more times you get hit, the more chance you have of getting dinged up.
It doesn't matter if it's a sprained finger (which will affect your throwing and thus passing game) it doesn't matter if it's a sprained little toe (which will affect your mobility).
That said lots of teams have new or fairly new qb's this year (or new systems (Michigan)). It could be a great year for our defensive line and defensive backs to really rack up some numbers.

nebraska has now gone zero years in a row with at least one NFL draft pick. Turn out the lights, the party’s over.

Suck it @74Hunter , you Larry Phillips apologist Osborne groupie.

Take that back to the land of the un-forked family tree and stew on it for a while.
I’m taking you up on your offer, I will be posting on a Nebraska football forum about Iowa being Nebraska’s daddy, Im going for the throat now. Beat em while they are down.

The announcers joked about an injection or pain killer and stated how it was his best friend or something to that effect.
