What kettle bells?!This is what gives me confidence for the upcoming season......
I would love to see the data you would use in a legitimate analysis of “under performance.”If Iowa continues to have success, I can see Doyle being the first S&C coach to earn a cool mil down the road. It’s gonna happen. But if I were the AD and was handing out bonuses for performance, I would also be adding into the contract, if you don’t meet a minimum requirement, you could also drop back down to your previous pay. Under performance drops in pay would continue to drop until you bounce back enough to warrant another increase.
Stanley, time to shine, make the team better. It is your opportunity.Good stuff Rob.
I’ve been watching some highlights from last season and some of the throws Nate Stanley makes are next level throws, but then you remember the stinker games and some of the completely boneheaded decisions. First and foremost he needs to play with confidence this year and make good decisions. I’d also like to see him use his feet to pick up 3rd downs when the play breaks down. Hopefully this is the year he can put it all together.
I’m stuck in between being excited about the WR core and nervous. I’m nervous because we really haven’t had that much success at that position. Smith and ISM have shown flashes but they have their shortcomings as well. I’m very high on Tracy and hope the coaches get his kid touches in different ways. I also think Nico R will be solid. I guess at this point we just need to see this group prove it on a consistent basis. Oliver Martin becoming eligible would certainly be a nice shot in the arm for this group.
The Oline is kind of interesting. Both tackles are getting a ton of hype, but to me they haven’t necessarily played to that level to date. Projecting well at the next level because of their frames doesn’t always mean they are dominant college players. Hopefully they can live up to the hype. Barwart is solid in there and I think TL will play well. This team has to improve on the ground or it’s going to be a tough year.
So show me your data? Forget the Rhabdo thing. Let's just talk Ws and Ls. Iowa has been decent no argument there. Have they over performed or under performed? The ONLY guy I know and there's 1 that has quantified this based on recruits and development Ciciano is his name. Where do you think IOWA should be ranked in terms of player development? Since Chris doesn't do any X's and O's on game day you would think that the player development metric (not a perfect science at all) is as close as we're going to come to player development. I just love the way some of you guys shit on the rest of us just simply asking legitimate questions about pay for performance relative to the rest of the universe.I cannot wait until the usual suspects attack Doyle with, “But, but, what about rabdoh?”
