Howe: Hawkeye Off-Season Stream of Consciousness

You're a veteran? Thanks for your service!

Also Wondering what I should do about my dog who eats grass and throws up on the carpet?

Iowa is notoriously slow starting the season..."mid summer form" is the tag line. Not the best time to play Wisconsin. I recall watching Iowa struggle with non-con schedule then having to play ranked B1G team like PSU on the road (2009). Somehow they hung in there and won. But going in, it seemed like a unclimbable mountain

He just wanted to point out how much you should appreciate his "pearls of wisdom".

Not everybody has the experience to fully appreciate things like

"The odds of being a unanimous consensus all-American aren’t great."

We should probably write that down!

Hey, seriously, I appreciate you giving us something, Rob!

Played PSU very well last year, could have won that. Thinking same thing for the Wisconsin game, night game, first home game, nice weather. Love it.

The first ten years under KF it was often true that early season games were more like limited scrimmages and the team very often got stronger as the season went on. Since 2010 there seem to have been more years mixed in were Iowa started off relatively well, but faded late in the season, mostly due to attrition.
