How would you structure the postseason?

6 teams. P5 conference champions plus top ranked G5. Seed them 1 thru 6. Top 2 seeds get a bye. The 3/6 and 4/5 games played at better seeded home field. Semi finals and final played similar to now.

I like this. I would move the season back up a week like it used to be so the conference season ends the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Make the conference champ games the Saturday after T-giving and then your round 1 of the playoffs the next weekend. Then, you can still end the season around January 7th or whatever with the title game.

I would add one more team to go to 7, and I would mandate that the #7 slot go to Iowa every year. So you would do the playoff just like you suggested and then whoever wins that would have to play Iowa one hour after the final game in that 6 team playoff. So like this year, Clemson would have gone into the locker room, had some drink boxes and Pizza Hut, changed their uniforms and then came out to play Iowa. Winner of that game gets the title.

It's not broke, don't fix it. The 4 team playoff has produced the best team as the champion. The bowl games are fun and good for college football and the communities they are in.

Sorry. Will strive for brevity next time.

8 teams
5 conference Champs
1 Other 5 team
2 wild cards

Seed 1-8. 1st round played at higher seeds stadium. Then move to the structure they have in place.

The rest of the country keeps their bowl games.

Shouldnt be any more difficult than this.

I agree ... this seems easy. And that's why it won't happen. :)

They could even tone that back some for my liking. But as far as the rest goes I'm right there with ya. Thought that from the time before they even got 4 locked in.

I would keep the bowls. They benefit the teams that do not make the playoffs and they are by and large fun for the fans.

I've been to an Orange Bowl, Peach Bowl, Rose Bowl and 2 Outback Bowls. They were a blast.

Obviously, if elite NFL prospects do not want to play in a bowl game, that is their choice. One or two players cannot ruin a good team. Exhibit A: this years Outback bowl
