How weak is this forum?

Maybe there is a huge percentage of idiots on this board and you are trying to accommodate them, but there is no reason to point out the PTL is a rec league, everybody knows that. If a person doesn't realize that they need to take summer league stats with a grain of salt, that person isn't worth worrying about.

Anyway, hawkeyedrive.com always has a few interviews and videos up after each PTL session. Uhl looks very fast.

Again, absolutely, it is a rec league featuring Hawkeye recruits and players, and I love the moves that Uhl has. He doesn't hesitate and takes it right to the basket. Geselll and Oglesby seem to be passing the ball well, which is a good sign.....

I think Uhl has the skills to play this season off the bench and really help the team. Can't wait to see Trey and his game and Brady's three point ability....

I think Fran has added three very good players to the team that can play his style and want to play his style.....

Looking into the Crystal Ball I see good things for the Hawks this season with chemistry and defense back....

I do not put a lot of stock into PTL games, I just want info on guys on the bball team working on certain aspects of their game that they need to work on.

I don't know if people know this or not but apparently the competition and defense aren't that great in ptl.

With that in mind I would suggest taking things with a "grain of salt".

There is not a lot to be pumped about...The team collapsed, and the PTL really is kind of worthless...as someone else said...mainly shooting and conditioning.

Plus our "big" recruit...is not even in town yet...

If they want to win games maybe they should put an emphasis on trying to play some defense during these games? I don't know..maybe I'm getting old, all I seem to think about is poor defense and the damn kids that won't get off my lawn.

I'm generally a pretty easy fan to please, I like Fran, but sometimes have shook my head in disgust at our defense. Overall I'm still optimistic..probably because our last two coaches were so worthless that anyone seems good in comparison.

Very well played, Shane, wish I lived closer to IC, I would be one of the fans who love basketball and go to the games. Nice way to spend a Summer evening.....

The PTL is getting more talented every year with the recruits the coaching staff is bringing in. It has to be a lot better than last year since UNI has decided to rejoin.

I'm with you, Jack...it would be cool to see what they're like in a setting where you could hear their every word when dealing with teammates as well.

That's it? McKay had 32 rebounds in one game in the CCL, Niang had 55 points in one game.

Well ISU fans have been saying they are just like the Spurs. I think this proves it for sure, I mean 55 and 32...that redonkulus. I'm hearing that the Spurs are gonna draft Niang, even though he didn't declare for the draft, he dat good. You should be pwoud of your Cyclones Clic

For someone who couldn't jump high enough to slide a sheet of paper under him, Niang's pretty damn good.

Think "Victor Alexander" but with less thick and more range...

Naah, just another big man that can't play with his back to the basket and thinks he is a 6'7 shooting guard.:) (I'm kidding)

I'm gonna try n make it for the next PTL game. Looking forward to seeing Uhl. I see some people that are down about next season..i think you will be pleasantly surprised.

VERY disappointed not seeing Dickerson..was really looking forward to seeing how his speed n quickness could help us. Hopefully he's got some of that east coast attitude to him..we could use some of that.

Looks like Trey got around a lot. Maybe he got some West Coast swag living in California, Texas arrogance in prep school, and Midwest friendliness playing in North Dakota. He truly is the whole package...

Not one word about PTL and how the new players looked last night. I was really curious about Uhl as well as the other players. Years past there would 5 threads regarding PTL. How times change.

Look guy, Jon just dropped the game changer on us a few weeks ago. Give it time for people to embrace just how different these forums are now.

Because there are very, very few people who care enough about Dom Uhl to drive to a sweaty gym in North Liberty to watch him play a glorified pickup game.

And just think what they could have had if it wasn't for the screw job by the refs! Always against isu
