How to authenticate Rose Bowl tickets?

If you really want to, I'd ask him where he got them, receipt with a transaction number. verify with the vendor.

Don't do it. I saw 4 couples get scammed in Indy. One couple from Cedar Rapids bought tickets on Craigslist. Tickets looked very legit. They ended up watching the game at a sports bar. DON'T DO IT!

I am pretty sure the other couples that got scammed were bought from Stubhub and were duplicate tickets. I'm sure they were reimbursed by stubhub but how terrible to spend all that money for travel and hotels not to mention the excitement building up to watch and cheer our beloved Hawkeyes live and then have to watch it at a sports bar.

Stubhub had a location set up in Indy. They would have replaced the tickets if something like that happened

+1. the ticket itself, while an expense, is not the biggest when thinking of taking a big trip to pasadena or indy. good to get refunded, but crap to be out the rest of it, plus your time.

If you don't like risk then buy from StubHub or Ebay or something like that. If you don't mind a little risk you'll get a better price on Craigslist, but I would recommend only buying them from someone you can meet up with in person.

This is true they guarantee the tickets you buy.Ive bought and sold tickets on stub hub with no problems.

I have never had any problems either. I have always used Stubhub for all my Hawkeye games this year thats why I was so surprised when I saw this happen.

I purchased tickets from Stubhub the year the new Twins Stadium opened. A couple of innings into the game a lady behind me asked me where I got my tickets? I told her Stubhub and she said she bought the same tickets as part of 10 ticket purchase. Since we got there before them we got in buth they only allowed the tickets that we had not already claimed into the game. Since the game was a sellout they rest of her group never got in. They said they would refund the ticket price. I had driven from Des Moines, that would have sucked if we didn't get in.

Well, I'm sufficently scared now that I won't do it. Thank you all for the stories of caution!

The rest of my group has tickets via Stub Hub, but I was hoping to help them pick up a couple more for my in-laws. As a Hawkeye-by-marriage, I'm taking one for the team and staying at the rental house with the 1 and 3 year olds, so that all the life-long Hawkeye fans can go together. As for my in-laws, looks like the plan is still to buy them on the street before the game.

Hopefully the STub Hub tickets will be authentic. I would hate to see the rest of the group knocking on the door before half-time!

Very cool you are taking one for the team sounds like some "Iowa Nice" has rubbed off on you. Have a great time with your Hawkeye family and Go Hawks!

meet in person and get a copy of their driver's license. if they balk at that, obvious fraud is obvious.

Ironic, from the time tickets became available to now is just enough time to copy a legit ticket and make a counterfeit ticket & slap on Craigslist. Just sayin'!

That's interesting, since stubhub is the official partner of MLB, I assumed that every time a ticket was resold that it generated a new barcode and cancelled out the original one and that is was connected to MLB's system automatically somehow.

I've purchased a lot of tickets on stubhub with no issues, but if they don't change the barcodes, I can't believe I've never run into any problems.
