Do you know how to delete threads your have started? This is lame, all my work is done for the day, I'm bored, and was trying to get rise.

Most of my friends are Cubs fans.

I have to agree... Ill make a point to it then.

Did that Pujols deadline come yet? What are the odds the cubs could get him? Slim and none?

the cubs have been mentioned multiple times by media outlets and pundits as one of the few teams who actually has a shot at landing him. when you're asking that much money, only the major market teams are in the running. he will not be a cardinal next year

Cub fan here. Grew up in Des Moines & started rooting for Cubs when their Iowa farm club was known as "Des Moines Bruins" & played in the old Western League. Ernie Banks had a cup of coffee with that team.

I said the cubs should try to get him from day one.

they're one of only a few teams that could afford him. And I dont think Pujols is the "I wont go there because I'm a cardinal" type of guy. it's obvious he's looking out for his own and he's going to go where they will pay him the most. not that that's a bad thing, after all he probably is the best player in baseball right now and if Arod is going to get huge jack, why cant he

Probably enough to know that if you just type "***" that the site software will filter out the word.

But you...you clever dog...went and put $$ symbols in for the S's. Tricky! I swear, if I hadn't seen the $ symbols, I never would have been able to figure out what you were trying to say!

I see 3-4 teams fighting to take the division with 82 wins.

Another Cub fan here. I'm a glutton for punishment I guess. I remember growing up watching the Cubs on WGN, listening to Steve Stone & Harry Caray. The earliest Cubs teams I remember were made up of guys like Sandberg, Keith Moreland, Jody Davis, Ron Cey, Leon Durham, Shawon Dunston and guys like that. Lee Smith was the closer. They weren't very good except for in '84 and '89, but me and my dad loved them anyway.

I agree with Gravy - the NL Central is always pretty winnable, so the Cubs have a shot. The trick is showing up for the NLDS.

I also said 3-4 based on what the Cardinals do to replace Wainwright. It's possible we're looking at 3 teams around 84 and the Cards suddenly looking at 76. With an adequate replacement, we're closer to 4 teams around 82. He's a legit 6 win guy.
