How Many Predicted 7-5?

Just curious. Who predicted a 7-5 season?

Those of you who did saw something the rest of us didn't. What did you see when you made your prediction?

I said that we wouldnt win more than 7 games after the wiscy loss due to the fact that they still have not beaten an Iowa team to win more than 7 games. And just to think. IF Indiana does not drop that pass we would have a 4 game losing streak and be 6-6.

I thought we could lose 3 because I figured we wouldn't be able to handle the expectations. More than 3 would have been unthinkable disaster season...........

Injuries have been a factor and anemic offense in general down the stretch has been dumbfounding.

Per the prediction thread, nobody had worse than 8-4, and there were only 3 of those (in a thread of over 100 replies, IIRC).

Worst I ever heard was 8-4. And I just figured the dude was trying to rile me up. Turns out even he was optimistic. I still think 12-0 is possible with the talent we have. Ferentz will find a way.

I picked an optimistic 7-5, and a trip to the Insight Bowl. Everyone said I was nuts...wait, isn't this Cyclone Fanatic?

With this talent I predicted 12-0. With 3 games that could possibly cause problems, Az, MSU, tOSU. There is no reason this team should be 7-5.

Did anyone predict a loss in Minn?

I gave a probablistic prediction. 7-5 was an outcome that was definitely an event that was rather probable (although certainly not the most probable).

Of course, in defense of the prediction ... the team killed themselves a bit by how they ended handling expectations. Of course, I'd put a hunk of that on the coaching staff too. They need to go back to the drawing board when it comes to handling high expectations (and how to treat things when such expectations go unmet).

Furthermore, I don't think that any of us would have expected that our D (particularly at LB) would have gotten hit by the adversity it did.

It seems to me that whenever our O gets hit by a lot of injury ... we usually still can pull out respectable seasons. However, when the D gets hit by a lot of injury ... we just seem to have a lot of difficulty responding to that. Just an observation ....
