How many ppg do we average?

i firgure possibly few games in 90's few games in higher 60's, prolly average 70 per games, but definitely more than Lick's team

I don't care as long as we score more than the other guys. I would like to see us never ever give up 100 again. Our wins will come from defense. Outscoring people isn't the way to consistently win big games, championships, advance in tourneys.

I was under the impression you win the game every time you outscore the opponent....

I'll go with 75. What do you guys think?

The only BoneG teams to score over 75 last year were IU and OSU. We are not at that level offensively yet, so unless our defense is seriously busted, we should be in the low 70s.

Maybe high 70s to start teh season, and high 60's once we hit the meat our our BoneG sched.

We averaged 73.0 last year while opponents averaged 72.5. One thing I'm definitely sure of is that the distance between those two numbers is going to increase significantly. If Fran is trying to move us faster than last year and defense improves, then we're getting more offensive possessions. I'm going with 76 on O vs 68 on D.

Nah. That's pretty much what Indiana averaged last year, and we are certainly not there yet, especially with the conference set up the way it is this year.

Indiana averaged 77.3 and 66.4. I know that's not that huge a difference, but an average win margin of 10.8 ppg is a fairly significant step up from 8 ppg. It's the difference between the 16th best margin in the NCAA (Indiana) in 2011-12 and the 44th (Lamar).

Actually playing better defense is going to cause the other teams to hold the ball more when their on offense. The more they hold the ball the less time we will be in an offense mode. I do realize the steal factor will weigh in for those quick break a ways. I'll guess 74 point average for the season with a 69 point average in the BIG. Like everyone else I am ready to get this show on the road.

The two main things I am excited to see in the first week of November is for the start of college basketball and an end to the race for President of the United States. When a job pays $400,000 a year and the candidates each raise a billion dollars to run their campaigns then something is serious wrong. Thanks Supreme Court. Why does it seem like its taken five years for the basketball season to start and for this election to end????

I don't think our defense is going to be much better.

I'm not sure if it will or won't. I do think it's pretty telling that Coach Fran said the other day that Bryce wasn't a good defensive player. Also, by default Woody and Gabe should help w/ interior defense. Yes, they are inexperienced, but you can't teach size/length. It will be fun.
