How many points ?

What's your take on how many points it will take to beat MSU and how many will Iowa actually score?

I think if Iowa scores 24 they can win. If they score less then MSU will score more....more chances.

I think Iowa will maybe score 3 FGs tomorrow. If the D or Special Teams add a score then maybe they'll get there. Not sure I have the stomach to watch....

I like your 24 points and Iowa can win if the score does not go any higher. Beyond that we don’t have the players to keep up

I agree 24 will win it for us. I just don't think we can get there. I don't see us getting over 13 points in this game and MSU will outscore that. And yes, it will be hard to watch.

I think they'll run fitzgerald up the middle and they will have success. Over time other things will open up for them. A sweep here a downfield pass there and just like Penn State... They score a bunch of points.

Stanley will wig out, the RB's won't have anywhere to run and it will be over.

Damn I hope I'm wrong.

Agreed, that's how it plays out in my mind too, unless good Stanley shows up... and stays! I think +3 in turnovers is essential to a victory. The only other way we win is if we can somehow run the ball successfully. Perhaps a KO or punt return or a pick 6.

I think Iowa's offense is going to struggle to put the ball in the end zone. Mississippi State only gave up 12 touchdowns all year, and 3 of those were to Alabama.

I would be shocked if Iowa's offense scores 2 touchdowns. I expect a lot of 3 and outs and groaning from the fan base but the bottom line is that their defense is elite. Iowa's defense and special teams need to step up in a huge way .

I think either one team wins 13-10 or mississippi state rolls Iowa . Hope I'm wrong

Boys, boys, boys......may the spirit of Drew Tate or Ricky Stanzi please take possession of Nate today and guide us in what will be the most exciting college football game ever played on January 1st. And if I'm wrong, well I've been wrong before, may I be struck down by the football God's and forever be cast out to the land of Ames where I hear the water is wonderful and my neighbor is actually my brother and my father.....hmm, how in the F does that work?

Go Hawks, I don't want neighbors like that

If both defenses play as good as advertised, I think 17 points wins the game.

I pick the Hawks to win 24-7 and Sargent puts on a show for his hometown fans.

27 24 Hawks.
I think we pick on their safties, with intermediate passes just behind the lb's. That will back them up for the running game. Combined with the fact everyone has figured out how to block on running plays, we do ok in the rushing game as well.
I think it's going to be a very physical game and we are going to need everyone to stay pumped. I know none of us really like the celebration after every good play, but we need that energy and everyone needs to both produce and feed off of it. Coaches and players.
Everyone needs to be mentally prepared for a fight.

No way in hell Iowa scores 20+ points against this defense. In fact, I will wager that our defense outscores our offense today. And that could just be enough to win it.
