How long do you stick with Oglesby?

I get what everyone is saying about Oglesby and at some point you have to give those minutes to some else if he can get his stroke going. In my opinion, both May and Clemmons bring something to the table that Josh doesn't on the defensive and offensive end. If Josh can't deliver better than 23% from 3, he can't be on the floor. He hurts the team because he doesn't penetrate, he isn't physical, and he can't stop most 2's in the Big10 from scoring.

That being said, there should be just as much pressure on Marble. I get he's hurting now, but his shooting hasn't been great, and his penetration game hasn't been what was expected either. He was supposed to be a mismatch for any of the 2's out there, but against the top tier teams, his numbers are awful. I think the NBA will be waiting for awhile. I hope he stays with his head on straight as I think he can continue to improve. He still needs to get stronger going to the basket.

Who thought that other than he and his dad?

The big ten is the best deepest league in the country, everyone should have been well aware that there were better guards in the conference than Marble.

I've been thinking the same thing for awhile now. Even when he was healthy, the offense seemed to flow better without him. I don't necessarily think that's because Devyn goes rogue, but guys seem more willing to wait for something to happen when our best playmaker is on the floor, instead of just executing the offense with great ball movement. That leads to a lot of iso, and empty possessions.

Part of the ball movement issue is that when the ball gets in his hands it stops.

No way was he expected to be a mismatch for people at the 2. He created all kinds of mismatches at the point because of his size. But he's not exceptionally big for a shooting guard, and he's a step slower than a lot of them, especially the really good ones (which the B1G has a lot of).

Yes, everything seems to come to a standstill and when people decide to move there are 15 seconds on the shot clock and from there something is forced. When Iowa looks good on offense there is minimal dribbling. When Oglesby is on the floor the same thing happens, there is one guy screening trying to get him open while Iowa dribbles at the top of the 3-pt line, then consequently forces a shot.

The offense should stay the same unless it is an end of the game scenario.

very good points.
