How is it week 8 already??!!

You're right about enjoying the journey of this season, but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the basketball team...I'm not saying NIT or NCAAs, but I don't think they're heading for the worst beatdown since "Eskimos vs Baby Seals" that everyone seems to be predicting.

I hope so man, but after this weekend 4 games remain in regular season, 4!!!? WTF? It just started didn't it??!

I always remind myself when a season starts that it goes by fast...sort of goes by in 4 game chunks....33% over..then 66%....

My advice to you, is to start drinking heavily...

I've kinda been the opposite this year. For whatever reason it seems like it's been forever since we played Michigan but it hasn't even been 3 weeks since we beat them.

I have kind of felt the opposite as well. I dont know if it is because I am constantly on pins and needles throughout every game or what? Its been a helluva great ride so far though.

As I get older the seasons go faster and faster. Time to slow down and enjoy what we have here. Before we know it we are stuck watching Iowa getting obliterated in Carver :(!!

The season goes by faster each and every year. For those of you younger then 50, sorry to break it to you, but it really gets fast at this age.

True, the season has flown by.

For Da Haterz I’m sure it has been dragging.

Each regular season college football game has a value of 1/12 or .083. After 3 games the season is .25 over and after 4 games .333 over ...... One football game is the equivalent of about 3 basketball games (.030) if you think about it. Any football loss is like losing 3 basketball games. In some manner you're programmed into thinking the football season is long by the calendar ( Starting with fall camp and ending by Thanksgiving.). Basketball season does not get much attention until football season is about over, but ends by the second week of March. So in time period they are about the same length. The number of bball games makes the season seem longer.

It's been said that life is like a roll of toilet paper, the closer you get to the end of the roll the faster it spins. So it is with life. The days become only 16 hours log and the weeks just 6 days long.

We’re you pleasantly surprised Shane? 10-22 and got a baby seal beating all season long!

Hilarious. Hard to believe that was 10 years ago that people were saying "I'm not sure we'll be NIT good." FML. What in the hell has happened to the basketball program?

And they got worse as the season went on. And there were threats of mass transfers form the second year in a row, led by the two best players Matt Gatens and Aaron Fuller.

That was enough to awaken Gary Barta from his slumber. That was the year that about ten busloads of Illinois students filled the section behind Iowa's second half basket.

Had that game been played the night of the Orange Bowl, when we did play in Champaign, there wouldn't have been 2,000 people at Carver.

The good thing is that it usually takes about 7 games for our offense to settle down. We have the rest of the schedule right where we want them.

Yup I was at that game

They used to do that back in the day at a lot of venues where tickets didn't sell out. They'd roll in wearing the home team's gear, then pull their shirts off to reveal that they were Illinois fans right before the teams came out. I had to sit amongst that group, the Orange Krush, back in 2004 at Carver. Horrible. The worst was Alford had complained to the Big Ten about them taunting Pierce and so despite me pleading with the leaders of the group, they would not start chants against Pierce. They were told that the school would revoke their tickets and affiliation with the school if they heckled Pierce at all. God, Alford was such a colossal piece of shit.
