How good is Bryce?

I know that he made a lot of jump shots that went in right before the buzzer at half. But how does he rank with the rest of the big ten PG's?
Im sure Fran is expecting big things from him this year.

Bryce is BETTER than avg point. this year for sure!! last year he was in the top half of " BIG" this year, all BIG TEN!!!

Fair assessment (IMO): below average for a typical Big Ten PG, above average for a Big Ten PG this year.

why the assesment of a below average pt, is it because the team manage just 11 wins or is it because he didn't get 20 ppg as well as the 7 assits, considering the injuries and lack of solid depth i would say he did pretty good for 1st year player, trying to carry a team

If Lester is a ten and lil lick is a two then Brice Is a seven or eight. Brice is good.

Where does he rank for this year's BIG 10 point guards? Top 5?

I would say for returning PG's in the Big 10 this is where I would rank them.

1) Jordan Taylor 4.7 apg, 18.1 ppg
2) Bryce Cartwright 5.9 apg, 10.9 ppg
3) Aaron Craft 4.8 apg, 6.9ppg
4) Lewis Jackson 4.0 apg, 8.0 ppg
5) Tim Frazier 5.1 apg, 6.3 ppg

Fans tend to overrate their own players. Bryce is a solid player, but on a good team he wouldn't be anything special. And he's in the top half of the conference this year, but in previous years he wouldn't be.

Cartwright is inefficient passing and a poor shooter. He is overrated by some on here because he is the 2nd to 3rd best player on what was a terrible team. On a good team he is a 5th best player at best.

Sample of ARate to TORate differential from Big Ten PG's last season:

Thompson: 1.74
McCamey: 1.72
Cartwright: 1.67
Craft: 0.99

For a player who is regarded as a pass first pg he is very inefficient with TO's. His poor shooting percentage makes him a liability with the ball.

You don't lead the big ten in assists or be close to leading it if you are a below average pg. That notion is just ridiculous.

Not if you've ever passed a statistics class. Glibert Arenas was 3rd in NBA league scoring in 2005-06. Does that mean he was the third best player in the game. Not if you factor in a .415 fg% for the volume scorer Agent Zero. Using total statistics to determine a players effectiveness is the definition of stupidity.

Cartwright may have lead the Big Ten in assists, but he also turned the ball over a whopping 3.3 times per game. It's funny that you use the total assists stat to proclaim Cartwright as above avg, but seem to have forgotten his horrible .393 fg%, .275 3pt% and 3.3 TO's per game.

Wish we had his % of offense that the ball is in his hands. I would wager that its very high and would make his TOs look a lot more respectible. That being said Bryce is a solid player but Im not sure hes all B1G.

bryce was average during conference play. he was atrocious in the pre-conference. however, did receive some all-conference mention, so at least a few people think he is OK. it would not surprise me to see him suck this year, or be a little better than last year. i think he is near his ceiling already.

So he is pretty much Lil Lick... Good breakdown

I disagree what Bryce did last year was with a struggling team you put him on an OSU MSt team he's a lottery pick ..............(maybe..LOL) but a definite Stud!!!
