To put it mildly, I don't think much..if anything..was accomplished by the press conference.
To those who want changes...either Kirk gone or a staff shakeup...that didn't happen, so they are ticked off.
To the average Joe and Josephine Blow who don't get on the message boards...they probably didn't even know there was a press conference, and what they will know about it will be what they read in the paper (if they read it). It won't mean a thing to them.
So I wonder what the point of it was? For Barta to try and force Kirk to face the music? To try to stop the bleeding, public opinion-wise?
There was one thing, however, that really bothered me......Kirk basically admitting he wasn't giving 100%. To me, that is inexcuseable.
Next season will be interesting. Will Kirk's stepped-up efforts in regards to the program have a positive effect on the on-field performance? Or is this a case of too little-too late?
