How did Barta sanction this Presser.....imho...horrible...trainwreck

To put it mildly, I don't think much..if anything..was accomplished by the press conference.

To those who want changes...either Kirk gone or a staff shakeup...that didn't happen, so they are ticked off.

To the average Joe and Josephine Blow who don't get on the message boards...they probably didn't even know there was a press conference, and what they will know about it will be what they read in the paper (if they read it). It won't mean a thing to them.

So I wonder what the point of it was? For Barta to try and force Kirk to face the music? To try to stop the bleeding, public opinion-wise?

There was one thing, however, that really bothered me......Kirk basically admitting he wasn't giving 100%. To me, that is inexcuseable.

Next season will be interesting. Will Kirk's stepped-up efforts in regards to the program have a positive effect on the on-field performance? Or is this a case of too little-too late?

Same here. I've never thought that Kirk has stopped caring, but I've suspected for a long time now that he hasn't had the same fire/dedication that he used to have 15 years ago.. These comments pretty well confirmed that, IMO.

Hopefully if he busts his tail starting now, it will pay off, but at this point I'm concerned about the lack of talent. Which, by the way, could also be a result of not hitting it as hard as you used to. Just a guess. But that isn't something that you can instantly solve by working harder.. Your roster is what it is, and it would take at least a couple years to recruit AND get those players on campus and playing at a level where they'd see the field and make an impact. I'm not sure KF has that much time.

If you ask me, it's all over. KF's days as our HC are numbered.

People keep twisting this around, IMO. Saying he was spread too thin is not the same thing as saying he wasn't working hard. Without that fundraising, we might not have the facilities that we currently have. That's part of the job, too, just like recruiting and X's and O's.
