Even though Fran has his March struggles and his teams have their defensive lapses, I would still take Fran ball over Lickliter crap fest. If Fran could just figure out March and improve in his recruiting at the point guard position he could give Kirk a run for his money in longevity.

I'm ok with his pg group of Drew, Brock and Dix( if needed). Where Iowa is sorely lacking is another talented big. Doesn't even have to be as good as Freeman just another 6'10 - 7' guy who can give you 8 and 5 when subbing out Owen for rest or fouls. Whenever OF goes to bench, Iowa simply is too small to even compete on boards.

By the way where has everyone been on the forum this year????? Has Fran burned out the base??? Yes, the early outs in March can frustrate the hell out of you but it's not like this year's team is terrible. I have seen much, much worse over fifty years of following Iowa basketball.

I believe a lot of bb fans have fran fatigue that has created apathy. I like this team. That said I also think Clark and the woman’s bb team has stolen the show over the past 3 years.
